Hi, How to control the space between the number and the title in heads? By default it seems there is a space of about 1 em. I want to change that space and set a normal space instead (a word space), since I've put a dot stopper after the numbers (\setupheads[stopper=.]). Example: 1. Title (what I get) 1. Title (what I want)

Vertical space after "tabulate"

Hello, just a brief question - - is it possible to affect the vertical space after [\starttabulate ...] \stoptabulate? In the example attached, the space after each "tabulate" is too wide. I'd like to achieve space closer to "normal spacing", i.e. distance between "B" and "a" (and between "b" and "U") "equal as much as possible" to that between "U" and "V". Is it possible somehow? Symbola font glyph size

Hello, I have some troubles using the Symbola font mentioned some time ago on the mailing list (http://users.teilar.gr/~g1951d/Symbola602.zip) It seems like the font metrics are loaded correctly, but the glyphs in the pdf appear approximately half the size, leaving white space above and next to it. Here is a minimal example: \starttext Gg {\definedfont[file:Symbola602.otf]Gg} Gg \stoptext If I use \definedfont[file:Symbola602.otf sa 2], the glyphs are more or less the good size, but the metrics are way too large. I have no problems with this font in OpenOffice. Any ideas? Vianney

\blank[reset] in MkIV

Hi, The command \blank[reset] works in MkII but not in MkIV. Is it a bug, or has the keyword "reset" been changed?

Dear Wolfgang, I tested your example on the multiple families of fonts. It works nicely. I have a few question. There is no toc generated, just only head "Contents" appeared. Since Intro and dedication are counted as chapters, the first chapter numbered 3. How to start chapter number from 1 for the first chapter? Thank you. Best regards, Dalyoung

disabling ligatures w/ simplefont

Hi, I'm trying to change my monospace font with the simplefonts module. It's working, but I'm getting TeX ligatures, namely, -- is being transformed to – and --- to —. I like having this behavior in the body text, but for the code samples it's not acceptable. The default font doesn't do this, so I'm a bit confused. There must be an option I'm not aware of. Hello, I am trying to take as much place as possible for a centered figure on a page. For this, I am doing \placefigure [here] % Place [] % Label {} % Legend { \externalfigure[Figure.pdf] [factor=broad] % Also: max, fit %[width=10cm] % Does not work with factor } By playing with width I get something very close to what I need, but I can see that there's always an initial blank skip at the beginning of the page which is larger than the skip at the bottom. I have tried with \vskip-1.5cm and similar, but this does not move the figure up. How can I take as much place as possible in a page for a figure with identical empty spaces, at the top and the bottom? If I set it to [top] or [center] or [mid] I do not see any difference. thanks, Pau

how to remove unwanted coordinate numbers(metafun)

Dear all. I try to draw a circle with points on it as following: path p; p:= fullcircle scaled 5cm; draw p; pickup pencircle scaled 2mm; k:=1; for i = 2.2,3,3.5,4.5,5,7,0,.7,1.3: drawpoint point i of p; label.lft(decimal k, point i of p); k:= k+1; endfor; It draws a circle, points, label, but unwanted coordinate numbers like (60.43535, 36.97691), too. I didn't see such numbers in any example in metafun document. If I use z[k] like z[k] = point i of P; draw z[k] Then such a long numbers disappeared. Is it the only way to surpress those numbers not using z? Thank you for reading. best regards, Dalyoung
