In recent versions (didn't test any other than the latest two betas, and only MkIV) the "3SIDE" imposition schema, written by Willi Egger in 2003, doesn’t work any more; the error says something about "the letter 6 is not a valid prefix". So I deleted "3SIDE" from http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Imposition - I can replace it with "XY" like this: My setup is: \definepapersize[filius][width=92mm, height=172mm] \setuppapersize [filius][A4,landscape] \setuppaper [nx=3, ny=1, dx=0mm, dy=0mm, topspace=19mm, backspace=10.5mm] \setuplayout [page] [topspace=19mm, backspace=10.5mm, location=middle, marking=on] \setuparranging [XY] For the records: You need to call \setuppaper[nx=3,ny=1] *before* \setuparranging[XY] ! Remaining problem (and difference to "3SIDE"): I don’t get cut marks *between* those imposed pages, only the outer ones appear. Can I change that, and how? Error messages sometimes horrible wrong

I have had it before, but had it just again, and it can make live quit difficult. Instead of \getvariable I had used \getvar on line 3206. But the error message of ConTeXt was pointing me to line 330. This makes finding and correcting errors a little difficult. -- Cecil Westerhof

MP and multiline text

Hello, is it possible to create multiline text only with \crlf, \par etc. inside a MP block? Background color of table cells?

I'm setting up a table, for which I'd like the first column to have a background of a middle gray. According to the wiki, something like this should work: \starttable[|p(4cm)|p(11.75cm)|] \HL \BL[1]\AR \VL\tfa{\bf A bit of text}\VL A lot of text, which will be broken up into several lines\VL\AR \HL \stoptable There are two problems here: (1) the background covers only the line of "A bit of text" and not the entire cell, and (2) the background color is too light. I experimented with this from the wiki: \starttabulate[|CR{red}c|CC{yellow}c|CM{green}c|CL{blue}c|] \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC \NR \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC \NR \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC \NR \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC test \NC \NR \stoptabulate but it produced no colors at all (and yes, I do have colors turned on). Squashing up lines?

I'm preparing a grant application, for which the template is given in MS Word, and for which the instructions are that the final application must be no more than 4 pages. I'm trying to re-create the Word doc in ConTeXt, and to keep within the page limit I'd like the text to be as tight as possible. This means: minimal space before and after an itemize environment, and between items. And also minimum space between lines. I'm using the Arial font, so as to most closely approximate the MS Word original. How can I do this? Thanks, Alasdair

Hello, there was a discussion about "Ideas for restructuring the ConTeXt garden?" some months ago (http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2011/057640.html) In answers in this forum, "Context Minimals" are still referred - so just a polite question: Is there any progress calling Context Minimals -> "Context Standalone"? Wrong radical with euler.otf and texlive 2011.

Hi, I use euler.otf with texlive 2011. The expression $1\over\sqrt{{1\over b^2}+{1\over a^2}}$ is typeset with a wrong radical. Here: $$1\over\sqrt{{1\over b^2}+{1\over a^2}}$$ it seems correct. Beta also exhibits the same behavior. Is the font or the format, or, perhaps, something else? Thank, Eythan

\defineseperatedlist and working with variables and merging fields

Attached a tex file and the generated PDF. The first table is what I am trying to do. The second table is an example about what I would like to accomplish. I have two problems. Because there will be a lot of tables I like to use a variable, so that changes can be done in one place. That is why I would like to use: \getvariable{desc}{fieldHeading} on the third line of the table. But then I get one column instead of five. (The third is what I get, the fourth what I would like to get.) In the first and last two rows I would like to have the field take the complete row. Just like the example in the table under it where I use Is this possible? -- Cecil Westerhof
