It seems that if I copied all of the module files under the current directory, it works perfectly. And of course mtxrun --locate t-vim.tex gives the correct location just as indicated by my previously attached log file. And there's only one environment variable corresponding to TeX settings: $ env |grep -i TEX PATH=/ifs2/S2PH/qiuhw/opt/context-1008/tex/texmf-linux-64/bin:.... (It's very long) Actually not only the modules under tex/texmf-modules not work on the "Remote", but also modules under tex/texmf-local don't work either. metapost not adding picture

I have this question on the implementation of metapost. The following program ends in an error: \startMPpage picture v; draw origin--(1cm,1cm); v = currentpicture; clearit; draw (1cm,0)--(0,1cm); currentpicture := currentpicture + v; \stopMPpage The error is: ! Not implemented: (picture)+(picture). Yet Knuth's metafont book in Chapter 13 tells me, quote: "Pictures can be added or subtracted;" Is the current metafont implementation lacking this feature? New STIX font version

Hi all, you might be interested in hearing that there is a new there is a new version of the STIX fonts (since 1h ago) - or rather a beta version: 1.1.0-beta1. See: http://sourceforge.net/projects/stixfonts/files/STIXv1.1.0-beta1.zip/downlo… "The beta period will remain open until December 1, 2011." - Thus, one has still 5 months time to comment on the bugs. (Or are that two moths? With STIX ETA one never knows ...) As reminder: STIX fonts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STIX_Fonts_project) are a large collection of Times-like math fonts, created by several publishing houses in a rather slow process. A year ago, 1.0 was relased and now with 1.1b1 is finally released. Seemingly, one can now use it directly such that one does not need the XITS fonts anymore. (Cf. http://typophile.com/node/71171) From the release notes: "What is new in this release? The original Version 1.0 STIX was packaged as 29 distinct font files. Version 1.1.0-‐beta1 provides the same set of glyphs packaged as a set of 4 text fonts and 1 symbol font. This new packaging will facilitate the use of the font on more desktop applications, and will specifically allow the symbol font to be used in recent versions of the Microsoft Word Equation Editor." "In addition, an update was made to address compatibility issues between the font set and the Windows PostScript driver." cross referencing

Hi all, I've tried the new cross referencing test files. It stops working if one puts the component files in a separate subfolder (example attached). Is it possible to adapt the given mechanism to work with a components-in-subfolder-structure? margin notes from inside combination

It seems that margin notes when called from inside \startcombination..\stopcombination do not reach the margin of the paper. Instead they use a margin inside the combination. Is that as intended or unavoidable? It was my objective to have them at the edge of the paper. transparent text in \framed

Hi, I found a problem with transparency in \framed. If the foreground color is transparent, the attribute is active all the time. Same is true if you use a transparent foreground color in the content. Small test file is attached. Tested with beta from 2011.10.05 23:53, LuaTeX, Version beta-0.70.1-2011051907 (rev 4277). Automatically add \stopXX when a new \startXX of same type occurs

Hi, I am using the \startsection (\startparagraph ...) to structure my document and export it to XML. But for all the environments, for each \startsection I have to put a \stopsection even if I start a new section right after. Is it be possible to automatically stop the previous section when a new one is started in the XML output? Thanks Charles
