You can use Pandoc (http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/) to convert from context to multiple output formats, including txt, html, markdown... even office! Hope this helps. Including movies in pdf files

Hi, I was updating the wiki entry on \externalfigures (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/externalfigure) and noticed that I cannot get ConTeXt to include a movie. I tried the following \starttext \externalfigure[clip.mov] \stoptext (where clip.mov is a quicktime movie distributed with Mathematica, which I copied to the current directory). The movie file is 16K and the resultant PDF file is 4.5K, which means that the movie is not embedded in the PDF (which in itself is not a problem, because, IIUC, context does not embed the movie in the pdf file anyways). However, when I open the file in acroread 9.5.1 (on Linux), and no movie is shown in the pdf file. So, does ConTeXt support including movies in pdf files, and if so, can someone provide a minimal working example. Aditya

Which version to use for MathML?

Hi all, I tried a few mathml examples with 2012.05.30 and the latest beta (test script attached). The 20120530 version fails with eqn1, which uses presentation mathml, but works with eqn using content mathml. The latest beta generates doesn't work with either equations. I see a lot of mathml related changes recently, with the file x-mathml.mkiv come and go away. Which version should I go with to get presentation mathml work? thanks and regards, shenchen

Reading product environment within a component file

Hi all, Since I read the thread concerning the LaTeX \includeonly equivalent, I tried again to make to project structure work for me (I gave up some time ago). Here is my problem: I have a product file p.tex %% p.tex \startproduct p \environment e \component c \component d \stopproduct %% end an environment file e.tex %% e.tex \startenvironment e % style commands... \stopenvironment %% end and two component files c.tex and d.tex %% c.tex (d.tex is the same file, except content part) \setupreferencing[autofile=yes] \setupinteraction[state=start] \startcomponent c \product p % content \stopcomponent but no project file. When I run context on the product file, everything is ok. But when I run context on one component file, it doesn't read the environment file because the \product command doesn't seem to be read (that's what I understand from the documentation). So, how should I do to inform context to read the environment mentionned in the product file. Is it obligatory to use a project file to be able to read the parent environment when processing a component? Another question which I think is linked to the previous one is: is one supposed to run context on a component? My different tests shows that a run on a component load all the other components mentionned in the product. So it seems to be equivalent to run context on a product or on a component (except for the environment problem mentionned before). That's also what the wiki seems to say (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Project_structure) "In addition, you have to keep in mind that when compiling a product or component file, ConTeXt goes "up" to the project file and compiles everything it finds in there that is not a \product". So, actually, I'm not able to reproduce the \includeonly equivalent with \component (even if I use \setupreferencing[autofile=yes] and \setupinteraction[state=start]). Do I miss something? Hi, How to change the appearnace of the title of Contents list? With the following code I get big and not bold "Содержание", which does not match my section style. I'd like it's font size and weight) to be the same as section (\bfc). \setupcombinedlist [content] [alternative=c] \completecontent P.S. Thank you, Willi. Actually, it was my outdated installer that set TEXMF vars and caused the trouble. When I removed these vars form envinroment (and updated the installer), modules was found. I heard that some people expirienced probles with installer (nothing strange, it was outdated). I wonder why no one sent me a message to my personal email (stated in installer's first page), since I cannot read every issue in the mailinglist all the time. Regards, Vaytcheslav

'kern': TrueType table and GPOS lookup feature

Hi there, sorry for bothering again with this issue, but I need to be sure in order to properly report to the font developer of FreeSerif. I have the following file: \usemodule[simplefonts][size=25pt] \definefontfeature[latins][default][script=latn] \setmainfont[FreeSerif] \starttext \showfontkerns dadedidodufafefifofufrflftlalelilolutatetitotu\par \addfs{latins} dadedidodufafefifofufrflftlalelilolutatetitotu\par \stoptext The first line has no GPOS kern enabled and the second line has it. In order to report it to the font developer (I have the problem not with ConTeXt, but with my ereader [I used ConTeXt to check the font features), I have the following questions: -In the example above, is the old TrueType kern enabled on the first line? -If not, how can I enable it, without enabling the liga or kern OpenType features? I need this to see the actual kerning form the old TrueType kern table (I suspect it hasn't the same values as the OpenType kern feature). Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk

Is there any possibility to get the plaintext out of my context-file? F.e. in programms like Indesign or Word that is trivial, so is there any tool, which deletes all commands and just leave the plain content? Thanks Huseyin

Unresolved third-party modules

Hi, Thanks everybody for the answers converning fonts list. Now I'd like to know why the 3rd party modules are not found. I perfomed fresh install (with --extra option), then --make. fullpage and simplefonts are not found, but they are physically present in the tree (e.g. t-fullpage.mkiv in D:\contextminimal\texmf-modules\tex\context\third\fullpage) Please, what I have to do to 'install' them?
