Hello, I'm encountering the following error, under ConTeXt ver: 2012.05.30 11:26 MKIV fmt: 2013.3.11 int: english/english: system > tex > error on line 27 in file data/three-volume-book-book-1.tex: terminal: >> NOfTextColumns-1 ! But maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places. b) The place in my .tex document where the error occurs, line 27, is at a \stopptp. Yet there is an essentially identical start/stopptp earlier in the document, where no such error is thrown: \startptp{ \pagereference[Summaries]\pnum{Part I}\ptitle{Statistical Summaries} }\stopptp So I guess there's some content in between the two starts/stop ptp's that's laying the stage for the error to occur. I'll be working on a minimal example, but that's time-consuming; and I thought in the meantime, there may be some clues in the above information that could help clarify the nature of the problem, to someone who understands the inner workings of ConTeXt. [wiki] fake account spam

Hi all, I’d like to draw your attention to the wiki. The spammers appear to know the solution to the current entry barrier “What is usually the last command in a ConTeXt source file (without the backslash)?”, and the number of fake accounts is growing fast: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Special:Log/newusers They don’t, however, seem to vandalize yet, so I guess the postal code of Hasselt is unbreakable with today’s technology ;-) Nevertheless the account spam is messing up the recent changes feed: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&feed=rss Even if it’s not urgent, may I suggest we collect possible replacements for the current question? I can’t image the damage those accounts would do once they figure out how to post links. Best Philipp

table formatting mystery

I created the following table, but I am running into a mysterious problem. When I include the text 'Geometry Calulations' in row 2, the table row expands as if this text takes up lines of text. However the text fits well within the cell length, and the text itself remains on one line. If I delete 'Geometry Calculations', the height of row 2 is the height of one line of text. How do I fix this? I have included snapshots of what I am getting with and without 'Geometry Calculations' included. Lettrine module not working?!

Hi ConTeXt User's, I'm currently experiencing problems using the lettrine module! I know from fairly recent (mail-archive!) issues related to this module but can't figure out why my setup isn't working anymore. I use the following: \lettrine[Image=no,Slope=-0.5em,Hang=0.2,Findent=0.7em] {H}{et is ca. half tien} in de... Basic \def error?

Hi ConTeXt User's, Again I'm struggling with MKIV! I get the following error message: ! Argument of \HeadTitle has an extra } My environment file contains the following definition: \def\HeadTitle#1#2% {\hbox to \hsize \bgroup \hfill \lbox to 2cm{\hsize 7cm #2}% \egroup} \setuphead [chapter] [command=\HeadTitle] In the text I use: \chapter[voorwrd]{Voorwoord} I updated to the following version: ConTeXt ver: 2013.04.20 01:15 MKIV current fmt: 2013.4.22 int: english/english, but must admit that I haven't used ConTeXt for quite a while! Project structure and path evaluation

Hello, I am experimenting with the project structure feature of ConTeXt and so far it seems that paths used with \project, \product and \component are relative to the current working directory of the context program. What I am doing right now, I use paths relative to my project file "project.tex". project.tex: \startproject proj \product product1/product.tex \product product2/product.tex \stopproject product1/product.tex: \startproduct prod1 \component product1/components/component1.tex % I would like to use "components/component1.tex" % that is a path relative to the current file \stopproduct This is really annoying as it makes it difficult to organize files into directories. I would like the path to be relative to the file containing the command. I tried \usepath[{.}] without success. So, is this possible in ConTeXt? Also, at the end of the PDF on project structure there is an example with \startdocument ... \stopdocument. But I don't understand where I should use these commands. From the source, it looks like \starttex ... \stoptext with the ability to register a before and after command. I am under the impression that I have to choose between using : - the project structure (project, product and component) - the \startdocument and \stopdocument commands - the \starttex and \stoptext commands But that I should not mix them together. LuaTeX has troubles with contextual kern

Hi, in EB Garamond I have some contextual lookups in the kern feature with which LuaTeX in context standalone (updated today in the morning) seems to have problems (the issue is not new, I’ve already reported it in january but perhaps that was a bit too confusing). The test document is: \definefontfeature[default][default][mode=base] \definefontsynonym[ebg][file:EBGaramond12-Regular.otf] \definefontfeature[ss20][ss20=yes] \definefontfeature[iota1][cv81=1] \definefontfeature[iota2][cv81=2] \definefontfeature[altcirc][cv80=1] \define\test{Tì αᾟα\par} \starttext \definedfont[ebg*default at 12pt]\test \addfeature{ss20}\test \addfeature{iota1}\test \addfeature{iota2}\test \addfeature{altcirc}\test \stoptext The font is at http://www.georgduffner.at/ebgaramond/fonts/EBGaramond12-Regular.otf The corresponding lookups in the kern.fea roughly contain pos T' 145 i.dotless gravecomb; which increases the right sidebearing of T by 145 before i.dotless followed by gravecomb and pos Eta' <218 0 218 0> uni0345.cap @grk_tlAcc2; pos Eta' <218 0 418 0> uni0345.cap1 @grk_tlAcc2; pos Eta' <218 0 558 0> uni0345.cap2 @grk_tlAcc2; where @grk_tlAcc2 contains the accents attached at the top left of the glyph and which means that Eta is positioned at 218 inside its bounding box and the bounding box is expanded by the third value between <>, on the condition that it’s followed by uni0345.cap* and the said accents. ss20 does a full decomposition of all composed glyphs so I can replace any component by an alternate glyph. Their order corresponds to canonical decomposition. disabling a header on the first page

I am building a context document with a title page. I want to disable the header on the title page. This comes before the first \chapter tag. The documentation indicated that you can disable the header on a page with the \page command. I tried several different things as the first command after \starttext, but none of these disabled the header: \page[header=none] \page[header] \page[header=high] Can anybody tell me how I disable the header on the first page? I would really appreciate the help. -Lance Larsen

Accessing string contents of a macro in Lua.

Hi all, Below are three methods of defining a dimension / dimension string in ConTeXt --- the first two boil down to storing a string in a macro, the last is a proper TeX dimen. I want to access these dimensions from Lua. I can access the dimen via tex.dimen.ColumnC, but how can I access the macro contents?
