weird interaction in linenotes command (again)

Dear list, sorry for posting this again, but I don’t know how to solve this issue and I really need your help. I have the following sample: \setuppapersize[A6] \newcounter\LineNote \setupnote[linenote][paragraph=yes] \setupnotation[linenote][alternative=serried] \define[2]\Variant {\increment\LineNote \startlinenote[LineNote:\LineNote]{#2}#1% \stoplinenote[LineNote:\LineNote]} \starttext \startlinenumbering \dorecurse{10}{\Variant{\showhyphens{legislation}not original}{variant} \Variant{\showhyphens{legibility}origin} {variants} } \stoplinenumbering \stoptext The problem here is that \Variant gets always #1 not hyphenated, although \showhyphens works fine in that argument. The cause of this is the \increment command within \Variant. I don’t know why this happens, but the increment is required by \Variant to make sense at all. I guess this might be a bug. Thank you very much; this was again very helpful. I am still having a problem with left-justifying the date: \setupletterlayer[reference][alternative=c] does not properly left-justify the date; the date is towards the left but is aligned several mm to the right of the other text. (This was true on the mwe that Wolfgang sent.) BTW are the values for the "alternative" key (example, e, c, etc.) documented somewhere? Thank you again. Of course I can correct that with your suggestion, but thats not the topic. These big font sentences are only examples for "elements", which are not set on the grid. The question is: How to achieve same distances between every normal text (set on the grid) and the "elements" (not set on the grid)? It is clear that not all before-distances and all after-distances respectivley can be the same simulatously, thats trivial. But at least all before-distances (so the distance between the text and the elements, in this order!) should be the same in the complete book. How to?

Linecorrection and distances

I use grid-setting, but have elements, which should not be set on the grid (because it is impossible, because of different interlinespaces, bigger fonts, or whatever). For these elements I use \startlinecorrection Elements \stoplinecorrection After these elements the normal text is continued, set on the grid again. That is all working and fine. But: The distances between these "\startlinecorrection Elements \stoplinecorrection" blocks and the text (both distances, before and after) are not always the same, they seem to be random. How to correct that without inserting "\vksip+-Xpt" manually before/after the linecorrected blocks? For testing: \showgrid \setuplayout[grid=yes] \definefont[big][name:Arial at 25 pt] \def\kurztext{Dies ist ein kurzer Text. Die anderen Standardtexte sind deutlich zu lang.} \starttext \kurztext \startlinecorrection \big \kurztext Und noch Zusatztext. \stoplinecorrection \kurztext \startlinecorrection \big \kurztext \stoplinecorrection \kurztext \stoptext In the above example you can see it, the distances between the grid set and the not grid set text are different. Some questions about the letter module

Dear all, I am using the letter module that came with context. A sample of a basic letter is below; I have put in "dummy" for the logo and the signature, but these are working fine when I include the files. I have several questions: 1. to center the footer. 2. to lower the footer (closer to the bottom of the page) 3. to delete the word "Date" above the date. 4. to put the date *above *the recipient address (and how in general do I adjust the vertical space here). 5. to left-justify the date. 6. to control the foldmarks (for US-letter-size paper, omit, etc.) I have consulted http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Letter but there are many things I don't understand. What is the meaning of "alternative=example"; what is the option "preset=" in \setuplayer[foot] ? Also is there a better way to manage color? I \definecolor, \startcolor, \stopcolor, but maybe there is a better way to indicate that certain sections of the letter should be in a color. Thanks. Thank you very much for your guidance. Problems with bibtex in current beta

Hi all, I've got still problems with the latest beta. I used first_setup.sh to setup my basic environment, and then I replaced the slightly older beta, as Marco suggested, with the current version from http://pragma-ade.com/context/beta/cont-tmf.zip. Now, if I try to build my doc, no bibtex is generated. I use the following bibtex setup: \setupheadtext [de][pubs=Literaturverzeichnis] \setuppublications[numbering=no, alternative=apa-de, refcommand=authoryears, autohang=no, criterium=cite, sorttype=bbl] \setuppublicationlist[style={}, after={\blank}, criterium=text] \setupbibtex[database={papers,books,articles,reports,urls}, sort=author] To make sure, none of my libraries contains an error, I also replaced them with sample.bib file from the wiki. \setupbibtex[database={sample}, sort=author] During the tests I always removed all generated bibtex artifacts. But I still end up with a main.blg file saying: This is BibTeX, Version 0.99d (TeX Live 2013) Capacity: max_strings=150000, hash_size=150000, hash_prime=127507 The top-level auxiliary file: main.aux I couldn't open style file cont-au.bst ---line 2 of file main.aux : \bibstyle{cont-au : } I'm skipping whatever remains of this command I found no style file---while reading file main.aux You've used 0 entries, 0 wiz_defined-function locations, 85 strings with 495 characters, and the built_in function-call counts, 0 in all, are: … The main.aux contains \citation{*} \bibstyle{cont-au} \bibdata{sample} and the main.bbl stays empty. I just don't get it, this did work and I even tried to compile a known working version. Do I have to initialize bibtex somehow? Thanks for any suggestions! Steffen

Dear list, here is a sample with latest beta for ConTeXt Suite: \setupinteraction[state=start,color=, style=,contrastcolor=,focus=standard] \setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided] \starttext \startbodymatter body text\footnote{footnote} \stopbodymatter \stoptext I can’t compile it, since I get an error (log below).
