Problem with units and problem with libraries

Hi all, recently I installed TeXlive 2013. In a document, I ran into the problem with font sizes: only points and ems operates properly in contrast to other units giving the basic (12pt) size. The same behaviour gives ConTeXt in TL2012. Older TL2011 and TL2010 are OK. Mimimal example: \starttext \def\text[#1]{blah blah --- #1: {\setupbodyfont[#1]blah blah}\par} % O.K. \text[8pt] \text[0.5em] %% K.O. \text[4pc] \text[1in] \text[12mm] \text[1cm] \text[500000sp] \text[0.5ex] \text[6dd] \text[0.5cc] \stoptext Therefore, a few days ago I tried to install the current version from the garden. Shortly after the beginning of execution, the first-setup.sh script broke down with the following error: texlua: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by texlua) texlua: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.11' not found (required by texlua) It was discussed in this list on May, so I tried the following but without the password for svn I was not successful. svn co http://svn.contextgarden.net/suite/build-binaries ./do_all.sh Thanks in advance for advice, help and/or password. Footnote number in different font?

Hello List, this is a nitpick, but it's an itch that's been itching me for a couple of days now. When you put a footnote to Arabic text, the little number (like this one: ²) appears in the font the Arabic text is in, which makes it look distinct from the other footnote numbers in the text and thus difficult to identify for the eye. I'm using \setupnotation[footnote][before=\lefttoright] to keep the footnotes from appearing completely mirrored, but haven't been able to find out a way what else to put there (perhaps next to the \lefttoright) to affect the font of the little number. Is there a way to do that? Cheers, J. R.

How to redefine \section temporaly?

Hi all, I wrote some articles with context and they contain (of course) sections. Now I have to include all these articles in a book but each article should become a section of the book. So I wonder if there is a way to convert the \section command of the article files into \subsection in the book. Minimal not working (but supposed to explain my problem) example: %%% article.tex \startsection[title=A first point] ... \stopsection \startsection[title=A second point] ... \stopsection %%% book.tex % command to make the \section of the input articles become \subsection % commands \startsection[title=My first article] \input article \stopsection %%% end I know I can change the \section commands of the article.tex into \ArticleSection and switch with \definehead[ArticleSection][section] \definehead[ArticleSection][subsection] depending of the context, but it would be better (for me) to not modify the article.tex files. Unexpected EPUB Output

I believe this is due to how the front matter is coded: \startfrontmatter \startstandardmakeup Title page \stopstandardmakeup \startstandardmakeup Copyright \stopstandardmakeup \completecontent \stopfrontmatter The front matter produces correct PDF output (with three separate pages for the title page, copyright page, and ToC, respectively). What must I do to wrap the *Title page* and *Copyright* page in separate elements, yet still produce the same PDF? Kind regards.

texlive vs. Context minimal on Windows

I know that Context Minimals is more up to date than texlive, which is updated yearly. But texlive when installed on Windows adds a menu under "programs" that is very handy for beginners. I don't have an internet conection for my windows partition. (Some nonsense about a driver for my ethernet board.) So I ask the question: when a user downloads Context Minimals on a Windows partition what must they do to run the programs such as context and mtxrun? Go to a text console? I am writing a book about using Context for novels, so my question is not idle. Maybe this way would work too: To define a new title (same styled like chapter, but not a clone), which has no counter and to add this title "Vorwort" into the toc. Then the first "real" chapter would automatically begin with "1"?! Would that work, and if yes, how to do that? Huseyin

outer floats on doublesided pages

Dear all, I have problems with the placement of floats. I need them to be placed in the outer edge of the text, but Context puts them in the middle of the page. The outer, inner, outeredge, inneredge, commands do not work. Right and left do work. Preferably the criterium option should also work, e.g. criterium=0.67. A minimal test file is attached. Try it out with a dummy, or with cow picture, or with any other picture of your liking. I updated my context installation today to a bèta version. The version is: 2013.08.30 02.05. Different counters for titles

To solve my last asked question, I chose a somewhat easiert way and defined an own chapter-title, which is unnumbered. Here is my Minexample: \definehead[mychapter][chapter] \setuphead[mychapter][number=no] \setupcombinedlist[content] [list={mychapter, chapter, section}] \starttext \completecontent \mychapter{Vorwort} \chapter{First Chapter} \section{Some section in the first chapter} \chapter{Second chapter} \section{Some section in the second chapter} \stoptext The problem is now: Obviously the counter of mychapter and chapter is the same. Because "first chapter" begins with number 2, but should with 1 – that was the intention of this new chapter style, which is nothing but a unnumbered copy of the default chapter. Was that idea wrong? How to give chapter and mychapter their own counters, to achieve this result – or any other way to let "first chapter" begin with 1 (but not subtract 1 from the numbers, because that ends up in the first section "1.0". The first section of the first chapter should be numbered with "1.1", as usual). Huseyin
