Hi Pablo, (resending since my attachments were too large for the mailing list the first time) I did some experiments yesterday, and I was able to produce a file (PDF and source attached) that validates as PDF/UA-2 with veraPDF and that Ulrike Fischer and David Carlisle (who work on the LaTeX accessibility) confirmed was actually accessible. I started from the "lpdf-tag-imp-testing.lmt" file that you posted on the mailing list a while back (I've attached my modified version), and I also had to modify "lpdf-tag.lmt" (also attached). To get the WTPDF tags, I also had to uncomment the "conformance" lines in both lpdf-fmt-imp-ua2.lmt and lpdf-fmt.lmt. Some notes: - I had to manually tag every paragraph with \startparagraph/\stopparagraph, which was annoying. - I had to hardcode mapping all sections to H1 for the validation to pass; this obviously won't work in real documents. There's code that purports to handle this at the end of "lpdf-tag-imp-testing.lmt", but I couldn't get it to work. - "\setupbackend[format=pdf/ua-2]" needs to come before "\setuptagging[state=start]", otherwise lots of stuff will silently break. - I've heard that it's actually usually better to put the TeX source in the Alt text for math instead of the current generated prose, because most people reading math are familiar with TeX anyways. - The file validates successfully, but there are lots of "Nested MCID" warnings. Struggling with xml/epub export (where did the cow go?)

I am still trying to get export-example.tex from the distribution to export to xml/html/epub. Thanks to all the help I got, I have the directory trees export-example-export and export-example-epub. The file export-example-div.html renders nicely in a web browser, except for the missing figures. I added mill and hacker to the images directory and got them to render, but the conversion of cow.pdf to svg I did not manage. Instead, when I run the epub conversion, the cow just disappears from the directory. This is obviously only the beginning of my problems. Where do I learn the basics of XML so that I can style the (say) the headers, theorems, exercises etc? Thanks for any hints! Matthias

Hi Hans & Mikael, for UA-1 one can modify tagging by copying and renaming `lpdf-tag-imp-crap.lmt`. Is there any way to do the same with UA-2? Many thanks for your help, Pablo

no list method for \placecombinedlist[content]

Strange issue that has just happened. I updated the latest ConTeXt [ConTeXt ver: 2025.07.07 23:34 LMTX fmt: 2025.7.8 ] and for some reason \placecombinedlist[content] is giving me a page full of 'no list method' instead of the contents. If I run the same file in an older version, I have no problem, and the Table of Contents appears as it should. I have made no changes to the file that worked perfectly beforehand. Why this 'no list method'? Julian

Cache converted svg images

Hi, is there a way store the metapost code which is created from a included svg image to shorten run time. When you have many images (1000+) it takes a while to create the pdf file (I guess IO to read the images plays a big factor). Attached is small set of images with a test file. Wolfgang

Full-page illustrations

Hello Is it possible to suppress the headline on pages which are entirely occupied by an illustration? This is sometimes useful to maximize the space available for the picture, especially a landscape picture with a lot of detail. I have used 'orientation=270' to position a figure in landscape mode, with the width set to the vertical height of the page (or close to it if that would make the overall size too large). But I haven't worked out how to set the caption underneath the figure (that is, rotate the caption also, using the full width of the figure): the caption appears at the bottom of the page as for a portrait-oriented figure, which is inconvenient for the reader. Error on recent update

Hi all, I've just recently updated ConTeXt to the most recent version and I get the following lua error at the end of the log in the terminal. I thought it was a bit strange at the time but since the instal finished "update done" I continued on. However, when I ran some tex files the same lua error appeared with no output. I tried the usual suggestions for when there is a crash, but no change. Any thoughts?
