log messages with logs.reporter

Hi, is it configurable which log messages are shown in the console output or in the log file? Because, with local report = logs.reporter("DOWNSAMPLE") I can see my messages in console output but not in the log file. That’s a bit unfortunate for debugging. Hraban

Vertical space between section and subsection.

Hi, I use the following code to make a class material. When I use \startcolumns … \stopcolumns, the vertical space between section title and subsection title so big. 1. Is there a way to reduce the vertical space between them? 2. Is there a way to make section command simpler? Thank you for reading. [ pdf images upside down in firefox ]

This is most likely an issue with firefox, but i noticed that when i create a file with z serie of images, the pdf shows correct in my local gnome document viewer (42.3) but when I vew the same file in firefox, for some unknow reasom the images are upside down. When I download the pdf, then view it with the local document viewer, the images are correct. When I drag the pdf into firefox, the turn upside down again. On the use of btx datasets to manage images and plots

Dear all, since this is my first post on the mailing lists, let me make a small preamble: after years of LaTeX experience I decided in May to give ConTeXt a try. The journey has been extremely pleasant up to now, so I want to thank all the contributors to this project for making such a great piece of software. Now, let's dig into the topic: I'm a PhD student in High Energy Physics (HEP) and my typical work include producing lot of plots and then presenting them in various meetings, comparing my results with existing ones present in the literature. Tipically, many plots and figures are re-used in different meetings and they might end up in the final thesis. My current workflow is just copying in different directories these (mostly vector) images and copying the caption between different tex sources. This workflow clearly scales very bad, and I would like to exploit all the goodies of the ConTeXt dataset machinery. In the Bibliografies manual it is mentioned that one can use datasets to manage images as well [1]. My case however is (slightly) more complicated than the one showed in the manual. What I would like to have is four databases: - a bibliography dataset; - an "others' figure" dataset, with all the images I took from the references. This means that in some way in the caption I would like to cite the references included in the bibliography dataset; - a "own figures" dataset, with the plots I produced with external programs; - a "metafun figures" dataset, pointing at the metafun code corresponding to some diagram. In my idea, for each figure dataset the \placebtxrendering should plot the figure with the right label to refer to in the main text and the right caption. (Clearly for the metafun dataset it should not include the pdf of the diagrams but instead compile the metafun code). In this way, I could create a single ConTeXt project with different products for different presentations, posters and other documents. Do you think this workflow can be implemented in ConTeXt? If so, how? Is btx the right tool for the job? I hope I was clear, and sorry if I was not. Thanks in advance for the help. Strange character output when mixing different fonts

hi, When I mix the four fonts below, only the serif (mincho) outputs my characters correctly. However, if I only use any of these fonts for output, I will get normal characters. It's not clear to me if this is a bug with the font itself or what. If it's an issue with the fonts themselves, I'll report the bug to the designers of those fonts. Issue loading an otf variable font

Hi, I was experimenting with variable fonts in ConTeXt. While all seems to work well when using a ttf font (like Recursive_VF_1.085.ttf), I am struggling to use .otf ones, like the Source Code Pro (downloaded from https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source-code-pro/releases/tag/2.042R-u%2F1.06… ). can’t make a format with LMTX (Docker/linuxmusl)

Hi, I tried to install LMTX/linuxmusl in a Docker container, installation seems to work ("context --version" looks good), but making the format fails with some Lua errors, e.g. loading > ConTeXt Token support / helpers … toks-aux.lmt:273: … operation on a nil value (field 'glyph') I don’t know if that’s musl or Docker related, I’ve no clue about these. Should I provide a full log? Hraban

playing with dates

Dear list, I would like to be able to design some calendars. Is there any way to have a command (Lua or ConTeXt) that can increase or decrease a given date by days (something like \nextday or \previousday). I have tried \date and \increment or \decrement, as shown in the wiki: \starttext Today is \currentdate. \dorecurse{25} {\increment\normalday} Tomorrow will be \currentdate. \decrement\normalday %\increment\normalmonth% -- gives an error \increment\normalyear And today in a year will be \currentdate. \stoptext But the main problem is that I end up having the improbable day of December 41st, 2024 (with \decrement\normalday, it would read -9th). Besides, \normalmonth cannot be incremented or decremented (although this would be useless for me). Is there any way to get a command that can increment or decrement by days a given date?
