xmlpos values doubled

Hello All, I'm trying to render a table stored in XML JATS format (https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/archiving/) and eventually want to use the <colgroup> tag to setup column aligning from the @align attribute, e.g., \setupTABLE [column] [\xmlpos{#1}] [align=\xmlatt{#1}{align}] Including \xmlpos{#1} I get double the value returned, i.e.: the first element in colgroup returns 2, the second returns 4 etc. Below is a MWE to show my issue. I show \xmlpos for each <col> tag in <colgroup> above the table, which returns 2, 4, 6, 8 but I expected 1, 2, 3, 4. Full-page Figure?

I want to have a float (illustration for fiction, with caption) that takes up just one page, irrespective of the size of the image in the figure. This can be done with a \startmakeup, but makeup pages do not float, as near as I can tell; they interrupt the text (leaving a partly blank page); and of course they will not include headers and footers. And a float with [page] will start the figure on a new page as desired, but if the image is too small, other text will end up on the page, which is not the desired result. I want to vertically (and horizontally) center the figure on the page, with no other content but glue, in the main text block. Headers and footers should appear as normal. Is there a simple way to accomplish this? Mike

Breaking url into multiple lines results in broken link in rendered PDF

I would like to be able to break up URLs into multiple lines in my bibliography source file and still get the link to work. Here's what I have so far: *\setupinteraction [state=start]\starttext\useURL [myUrl] [ "https://www.g <https://www.g> oogle.com <http://oogle.com>" ]\goto{link}[url(myUrl)]\stoptext* Unfortunately the link does not work. When I *don't* split the URL into multiple lines, the link works again. In reality my link is very long and forces uncomfortable line continuation in my `vim` editor. Fwd: command line arguments to specify output directory

Thanks Wolfgang. I have two remarks: - That option is not documented and cannot be found when I type *context *into my command line and press enter. Do you know why this is? - I tried the following *context --runpath=test test/test.tex * but it still dumps all the output (.log, .pdf and .tuc) into my current directory. I would like for it to get dumped inside the *test *directory... Typesetting unicode characters

Hi list, An XML document includes the 👍 emoji, as shown in the following snippet: <html> <head><meta charset="utf8"/></head> <body> <div class="bubblerx"> <p>Thumbs up emoji: &#55357;&#56397;</p> </div> </body </html> The document is typeset using ConTeXt, but the thumbs up emoji isn't in the PDF. Neither Noto Emoji nor Open Sans Emoji fonts will render. Does anyone have a minimal example that shows how to typeset such escaped entities? When the emoji is added directly to a document, it works fine: \definefont [TextFontEmoji] [opensansemoji] \starttext \TextFontEmoji{Thumbs up emoji: 👍} \stoptext Is there something special that needs to be set for ConTeXt to interpret the escaped unicode values as an emoji? How to group list of figures and list of tables by chapter?

Hi, How can I set up \placelistoffigures and \placelistoftables that figures and tables are grouped by chapter, i.e. separated by a blank line between chapters (see example below)? command line arguments to specify output directory

Dear All, I would like to ask whether there exists a command line option to the context executable which would allow me to specify the directory in which I would like my output to be dumped. I have noticed that if I call the executable outside the directory in which the .tex file resides, my supporting files (and resulting pdf) are dumped outside the directory in which the .tex file is located. Xml - Lua - context

And here comes question 2, a very basic one: on A4 landscape pages, I want to place two images next to each other (like the spread pages of a book). What would be the preferred way of the really competent users to do this, again keeping in mind that I want to loop over page numbers in a pdf file and thus am coding in Lua. So far, I have tried or thought about: 1. Embedded xtable This is what I’m using now, an xtable of two columns for every A4 page. It works, but I wonder if it’s a good method. 2. combinations This appeared to be the most natural approach (because it’s what combinations are for), but I ran into expansion problems, added a few “function () end” in my code, but couldn’t make it compile. Combinations, combined with framed and externalfigure, are difficult to write in Lua - or am I too stupid to find the winning combination (sorry for the puns). 3. columns Again, this would seen like a natural approach, having every A4 page set up as two columns, but maybe that’s overkill? I’d be curious to know what you think! All best Thomas
