nuts.setfield is nil in generic code

Hello, in the generic font loader code `nuts.setfield` is `nil`. This is because in `luatex-basics-nod.lua` there is a wrong assignment for `nuts.setfield` on line 121 (there is no `setfield` at that scope, it should be `direct.setfield`). Previously `nuts.setreplace` wasn't used anywhere (I think), but since 20th May 2021 it is used when injecting kerns into discretionaries (font-otj.lua): See also https://www.mail-archive.com/ntg-context@ntg.nl/msg98463.html. Minimal not working example is: ``` \font\f=file:{./BaskervilleF-BoldItalic.otf}:mode=node;script=latn;kern=yes; at10pt \f B\-C \bye ``` Fails with: "warning (node filter): error: ./luatex-fonts-merged.lua:5166: attempt to call a nil value (upvalue 'setfield')". hang error

Why this: normal plain TeX macro \hang giving an Undefined control sequence error in ConTeXt? This MWE shows it: \starttext \hang \stoptext I would not expect basic plain macro's to crash. If it is intended behaviour I do not think that is the road to go, because this invalidates older documents. But maybe it is just an error in the distribution. dr. Hans van der Meer

Hi, I upgrsded lmtx. A few small things (emntioned already) at the tex end but Alan and I are now in metafun mode. I (finally) adpated lmtx to delegated mplib logging, so \startMPcode{doublefun} tracingall ; fill fullcircle scaled 3cm withcolor "darkmagenta" ; \stopMPcode should work. Math cases and text in math mode

Hi, I have two separate issues here. First, I'm struggling to get math cases to work. The wiki suggests that the following code \starttext \startformula f(x) = \startmathcases \NC x, \NC if $0 \le x \le \frac12$ \NR \NC 1-x ,\NC if $\frac12 \le x \le 1$ \NR \stopmathcases \stopformula \stoptext should typeset everything after the \NC in text mode, but when I compile it's still in math mode. Is this a bug or is the wiki out of date? Secondly, how can I enter text mode whilst in a formula, whilst also only using the roman font? For example, I would like it so that even if the whole text is wrapped in {\em ...}, the text in the formulae are in roman font. Hi, I have to write a book : on the even pages at the bottom and on the left : the page number, a vertical line and the number of the chapter preceded by the text "Chapter" ; on the odd pages at the bottom and on the right : the title of the chapter, a line vertical and page number. R module

Hi, Just a ConTeXt user needs a R module documentation. Is there some MyWay or something else with a little bit of documentation about R module in ConTeXt MKIV? Another thing: R module seems unmaintained because \usemodule[r] gives me modules > 'r' is not found Yes, I know that filter module exists and it could emulate R module but I just want to know officially the state of R module Thanks a lot, Xavier

Disable hyphencollapsing for mono

Hi, I would like to disable hyphen collapsing (automatic "--" to endash conversion) document-wide for the currently selected mono font. Consider: \starttext %{\nohyphencollapsing \mono{--} %} -- \stoptext When uncommenting lines 2 and 4, the two hyphens in \mono{--} are not collapsed. How can I configure never to collapse hyphens exclusively in mono fonts? Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Christoph

whiteline before xmldisplayverbatim

I cannot get rid of the whiteline that \xmldisplayverbatim generates before its output. Changing to other \xmldisplay macro's did not change this. How to get rid of the whitespace? MWE: \startxmlsetups hvdm:docs:texcode abc\crlf \xmlstripnolines{#1}{.}% <- with or without: no change \xmldisplayverbatim{#1} \stopxmlsetups result, see the empty lines between abc and the \new.. dr. names of cached images

Hello list, using conversion=gray.pdf in lmtx the cached images' names have some string in their name. I thought it's a name of random sequence of luatex cache, but the string is the same on other machines and I don't know, where it comes from. mkiv used to have m_k_i_v_ string there. hacker.pdf = source image hacker_jpg_c60ccda70ef92e32d7a6334f31c23259.gray.pdf = cached linux hacker_jpg_c60ccda70ef92e32d7a6334f31c23259.gray.pdf = cached win MWE \starttext \externalfigure[hacker] [cache=./, conversion=gray.pdf] \stoptext Is it intended behavior?
