In the current beta ( LuaMetaTeX, Version 2.06.05), \m{\frac{28}{8\times29}} puts the numerator and denominator too close to the dividing line. Similarly for the variants of \frac and \over. \m{{28}\over{8\times29}} Alan

reduced space below chapter title

Hi list, I am attempting to achieve, for every second chapter, to have only one line of space between the chapter title and the text that follows. I looked at the following example in the wiki: \setuppapersize[A6][A6] \setupbodyfont[8pt] \def\MyChapterCommand#1#2% {\vbox to 4cm\bgroup {#1\hskip.75em #2} \vss \egroup} \setuphead[chapter][header=nomarking, command=\MyChapterCommand] \starttext \chapter{test} \input tufte \stoptext and presumed that I could adjust that to something like 1cm instead of 4cm. The problem is that when I try to process the original example, I get a fatal error at the line which reads \chapter{test} \input tufte. I'm not sure why that error, but that aside, would the \def\MyChapterCommand approach suggested above be the right way to achieve my purpose? In other words, I want the text that follows the chapter title to follow immediately for specific chapters, rather than the considerable vertical space that follows the default setup for chapter titles. LMTX lua xml interface: xml.tag()?

According to the mkiv manual, there is a \xmltag which I think should translate to xml.tag() in lua. But while xml.name() works, xml.tag() fails: attempt to call a nil value (field 'tag') Should xml.tag() work? G

spacing between chapters in TOC

Hi list, I want my table of contents to look like: Chapter 1 section 5 section 10 section 15 In other words with section items indented. I presumed I would need to do something with \setuplist[section]. I know how to control interline distance, whitespace, but in this instance, not indentation of certain lines in a toc. I tried \setuplist[section][indenting=yes] and even indentation=yes in the hope that existed. It doesn't, at least not used this way. But it must be simple enough to achieve? Julian

Two questions concerning numerals in ConTeXt

Hi, everybody. I expect you to be safe. I found the following issues. *First. *The following gives wrong results for Spanish numbers \mainlanguage[es] \starttext \convertnumber{words}{100} %Prints "ciento" instead of "cien" \convertnumber{words}{2000000} %Prints "dos millón" instead of "dos millones" \stoptext I've read other messages from the list concerning numerals and I found the following in core-con.lua [100] = "ciento", [1000000] = "millón", [1000000000] = "mil millones", [1000000000000] = "billón", "cien" (for numbers from 100 to 199) and "millones" (for numbers from 2 000 000 to 999 999 999 999) are missing (no issue with "billón", as Lua doesn't seem to handle too big numbers natively). *Second. *I tried to use Unicode tally marks (U1D377 and U1D378): \definefont[tallyfont][babelstonehan] %\mainlanguage[es] \startluacode userdata = userdata or {} userdata.tallymarks = function(n) local one = [[\char"1D377]] --Also tried "\u{1D377}" local five = [[\char"1D378]] --Also tried "\u{1D377}" return string.rep(five, (tonumber(n)//5))..string.rep(one, (tonumber(n)%5)) end \stopluacode \def\tallymarks#1{\ctxlua{userdata.tallymarks("#1")}} \starttext \tallyfont \tallymarks{47} \stoptext This works on Lua 5.4.0 (rc4) interpreter, but it doen't on ConTeXt LMTX nor LuaTeX and codes are printed instead (1D3781D378...). What is weird considering that \starttext \char"1D377 \stoptext gives the right output with an adequate font. Btw, I know about the Metafun alternative described on the book, but I'd prefer to use Unicode when possible. Thank you in advance. Jairo :D

Writing the caption above figures in combinations

Hi all, Is it possible to write the individual captions for each element of a combination of floats above it, while the caption for the figure appears below? \startplacefigure[title={A combination of three figures}] % this title appears below the figure \startcombination[3*1] {\externalfigure[image-1.pdf][width=4cm]}{a} % a appears above image-1 {\externalfigure[image-2.pdf][width=4cm]}{b} % b appears above image-2 {\externalfigure[image-3.pdf][width=4cm]}{c} % c appears above image-3 \stopcombination}{} \stopplacefigure I tried to define a new float, say myfigure, which has captions below and then I tried \setupcaptions[location=top] and \setupcombinations[location=top] but this does not work… Thanks for any help: Otared

background of \typing fills column

Hi, I finally wanted to attack CG journal 2019 again and stumble upon this error: If an article contains several \starttyping ... \stoptyping examples with a textbackground, it sometimes fills the whole column (pagecolumns). It doesn’t occur if the "typing" is at top or bottom of the column or even breaks. It’s the same with MkIV and LMTX. I’ll try to come up with a MWE, but perhaps you already know what’s wrong?
