xrightarrow specific size issue

Hi there, \starttext $\xrightarrow[50pt]$ \stoptext doesn't work. But it should, right? In the manual \starttext $\xrightarrow[50]$ \stoptext is shown, but that doesn't work either. Best regards, Johann

drop shadows with metapost/ metafun

Which process would you advice to add « drop shadows » to any kind of metafun / metapost figures like: picture p; p := textext("MetaPost is fun!") shifted (10cm,10cm); My current understanding of the required steps : 1- fill p with the shadow color 2- write it to an external metapost file (with savebuffer ?) ready for png export (outputformat := "png »;) 3- with lua, os.execute, and imagemagick prepare the shadow - extent the png file with a transparent background, to have room for blurring - blur it 4- import this png in context / Metapost (externalfigure), and center it with p figure 5- shift it according to the desired shadows distance and angle 6- apply the initial bounding box of p to the shadow, draw the shadow, draw the p picture Actually, all this seems long and tedious, and contrasts with the already existing links between MetaPost / MetaFun and cairo + libpng. Thanks again for your help.

underbrace spacing

Hi there, if I do \starttext $4 \underbrace{+ 3}_{\text{because of lorem} + 2}$ \stoptext then the spacing gets really big because of the long. How can I prevent this? (in LaTeX one can use \mathcal or so and that works) Best regards, Johann

prevent error page

Hi there, in my setup I constantly have a pdf viewer open showing the output of context. When I recompile the viewer updates. Now if there is an error, the document fails to compile, of course. Previously the pdf file just remainded untouched, nice. But now with LMTX, the pdf will be overwritten with a pdf just saying "error". This makes my pdf viewer crash! I can't work like this. So how to prevent this "error" page and just let context remain the pdf untouched if there is an error? Best regards, Johann

\startblockquote…\stopblockquote issue

In the latest standalone ( ConTeXt ver: 2020.12.30 16:45 LMTX fmt: 2020.12.30), \startblockquote and \stopblockquote do not work when I use the key, method=font, or include \setupquotation[method=font]. lmtx: new text & math font stuff

Hi, As you know, lmtx is also a place for experiments. Currently I'm playing a bit with fonts. Recently (as mentioned a whil eback) I added glyph scaling which permits interesting trickery, although one needs to be aware of how it combines with other features. Here's an example: \def\UnKernedTeX {T% {\glyph xoffset -.2ex yoffset -.4ex `E}% {\glyph xoffset -.4ex options "C0 `X}} \dorecurse{100}{ x \UnKernedTeX} There are alse \glyphxscale cum suis but again, beware that it might influence things when not used grouped. At some point this will be an option in scaled fonts (think of \tfc and such). It saves instances. You can get an idea with: \enableexperiments[text.fonts.compact] The 'text' in this command suggests that we can also do that with math and indeed we have \enableexperiments[math.fonts.compact] These directives have to come *before* loading fonts in order to be effective. Especially the math can bring down the number of font instances: text, script and scriptscript all use the same instance, which is good news. The bad news is that it's up to users to check how this plays out. There are some differences due to the fact that scaling happens elsewhere and otherwise which results in tiny differences (4/5th decimal). As said, these are experiments so ity might progress. I post intermediate versions because that way I can control it better. There is another variant in the planning. Yet another expriment (undecided if that will stay, i played with if before and then rejected it): \enabledirectives[fonts.injections.method=advance] If it stays I probbably have to patch some other code to better suit it. Overall, although in math it add to the overhead, due to the fact that math is hardly demanding (makes only a fraction of the rendering) the memory footprint can be quite a bit lower and performance a bit better (not that much). The measures used in rendering are kind of floating (recalculated often) when these mechanisms are enabled but my impression is that todays compilers make that hardly noticeable. As usual, it opens up possibilities, but of course at the price of testing. Protruding quotation marks obviate narrowed quotations

Several months ago I posed the following question. When I start a paragraph with a \quote or a \quotation the left quotemark does not protrude, but when I use Unicode quotes it does. I would prefer to use the commands. Any suggestions on how I can achieve proper left protrusion without resorting to Unicode characters? Wolfgang suggested the following lines of code; which worked perfically. \setupquotation [method=font] \setupquote [method=font] Returning to this project after several months I observe that when I use a \start- stopquotation environment, the quotation is not narrowed. The \setupquotation command obviously affects both the \quotation command and \start- stopquotation environment. Is there an elegant way to apply the \setupquotation command and retain the quotation indentation? Title in enumeration not working?

Hi, Has anything changed with titles and enumerations? I expected a title "Title" with the following setup. \defineenumeration[example][ text=Example, title=yes, ] \starttext \startexample[title={Title}] This is a test. \stopexample \stoptext But it does not show up. /Mikael
