Because: Modyfying the page before a chapter is something, that i can need. Sorting registers method for "uppercase like lowercase, diacritics ignored"

Dear list, In the wiki page https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Registers it is said that: - There’s no preset for the combination "uppercase like lowercase, diacritics ignored", try "zm,pm,zc,zm,uc". Well, I tried all possible permutations thereof, and also the predefined methods, and none gives what my editor wants, which is just "uppercase like lowercase, diacritics ignored". See MWE attached. textext with plain MetaFun

Dear list, When I process the short MetaFun example beginfig(1) draw textext("MetaFun") ; endfig; end with plain MetaFun, i.e. mpost '&metafun' test.mp the resulting file only contains “unknown”. How can I get the expected output? Cheers, Henri

Problem with grid alignment and paragraph

Dear list, I am facing a problem with grid alignment when using paragraphs. I think it could be a bug because the MWE below produces lines which are correctly aligned to the grid with the context version included in texlive 2017, but it does not seem to work with the context in texlive 2018 and the current beta (ConTeXt ver: 2018.12.07 19:37 MKIV beta fmt: 2018.12.14). This is the MWE: \setuplayout[grid=yes] \defineparagraphs[twocols][n=2] \showgrid \starttext \starttwocols \input knuth \nexttwocols \input knuth \stoptwocols \stoptext Am I doing anything wrong? Scaling down symbols and emojis

I'm having trouble scaling down symbols and emojis. For a while I assumed these don't scale with the current font size. Then I scoured the mailing list and realized that while scaling down seems broken, scaling up works as expected: \usesymbols[mvs] \setupsymbolset[martinvogel 2] %\showallmakeup \starttext % Progressively larger as expected. \symbol[ShortForty] {\tfa\symbol[ShortForty]} {\tfb\symbol[ShortForty]} {\tfc\symbol[ShortForty]} {\tfd\symbol[ShortForty]} % Unexpectedly all the same size. \symbol[ShortForty] {\tfx\symbol[ShortForty]} {\tfxx\symbol[ShortForty]} % This works, but why? Isn't \small just a synonym for \tfx via % \definealternativestyle? Anyway there is no synonym for \tfxx. \symbol[ShortForty] {\switchtobodyfont[small]\symbol[ShortForty]} {\small\symbol[ShortForty]} % This also works but is less than ideal when matching surrounding font sizes. % Which factor should I use to match \tfxx? \symbol[ShortForty] \scale[factor=4]{\symbol[ShortForty]} % Same as above comment, more or less. \symbol[ShortForty] {\switchtobodyfont[5pt]\symbol[ShortForty]} \stoptext * MWE for builtin symbols; emojis require local fonts. regression in fontloader?

The following example gave with the generic fontloader from 2018-12-19 and luatex 1.07 two identical lines. startchapter in two columns

Hi all, I'm trying to use \startchapter...\stopchapter command to typeset an article, I need the title of the chapter in the entire \textwidth and the following parts in two columns (from abstract to references). With \chapter command, it is not problem, but I can not do it with \start..\stop command. Somebody knows how to do it ? Works and Doesn't Work

Here is my small sample ConTeXt sample: I want to be able to control the blank gap between the end of an item and the next item. It has to be fine tuned at times. Any advice would be appreciated. NOTE: Two cases with inbetween attempting use use two variations of the \blank command which causes 'context' run to hang. The comment escape on them has to be removed to test them. The rightmost column contains result comments. Note that inbetween=\blank[.5mm] and \blank[small] cause context to hang . But, underbar'd command with a text string works as advertised. How to adjust inter item vertical space

I want to fit a page with an itemized group of items. The normal vertical spacing is to large and the [packed] doesn't give enough seperation between items. I should think that there's a simple way to adjust this with \setupitemize command or even with \startitemize. Is there? I did try \setupitemize[inbetween=\whitespace[medium]] , but it didn't do much or seemed to be applied to every line and not just between item and 'medium' doesn't give much information. Is there some way to specify a measurement to seperate between items such as .5cm for example? Thanks
