align text and formula

Dear list, I would like to include text on the same line as a formula. The text needs to be left-aligned and the formula needs to be mid-aligned (as per normal). I’ve tried various solutions from the mathalign MyWay but have not succeeded to get the desired result sofar. Below a M-Not-WE. Clearly, the formula is not positioned correctly yet. Who can help me out? \Umathquad\displaystyle not set

Dear ConTeXt users, I have a custom slide template that I borrowed from another source years ago. It works well on my Debian machine, but when I try to build the PDF on a docker vm on Gitlab, I run into the \Umathquad\displaystyle not set error. Surprisingly, that error doesn't crop up on my machine. Bibliography sorting order by Czech alphabet in Context

Hello, I am fairly new to the ConTeXt community and I am trying to sort bibliographical references for my thesis. I need to be able to set the sorting order of the bibliographical references by Czech alphabet (e.g., C,Č,D,....Ch,...etc.). English sorting puts Ch before C or Č, but in Czech it needs to be after D. Overriding a font face in a typescript

ConTeXters, How can I override one or two faces in a typescript? I prefer to use the semibold face in my document wherever an emboldened face is used. I would prefer to refer to it as \bf, or style=bold. (Similarly for semibolditalic.) I currently reproduce the existing typescript in my document, substituting the semibold variants for the bold. Is it possible to use the standard typescript by reference (\usetypescript) and then override those two faces? -- Rik

Encoding reserved characters in URI query strings

Let's say I want a link to plot x+2 in Wolfram|Alpha. I need to catenate "http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=" and "plot+x%2B2". Is there any way already available in ConTeXt to translate reserved characters like "+" to the percent-hexcode "%2B"? Something like \encode[plot x+2] would become plot+x%2B2 Or more generally, some languages have a query constructor like this \queryURI [http://www.wolframalpha.com/input] [i=plot x+2] which would construct the URI http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=plot+x%2B2 I could write my own, of course. But no need to reinvent the wheel. issue with xtables

How to use \setupitemgroup?

Dear context users: I have troubles using \setupitemgroup. I tried to use it based on the contextgarden wiki page (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/setupitemgroup), description, but either my understanding how to use it is not correct or the command doesn't behave as described on the wiki page. In the following example I want the items to be in a numbered, packed list, where the item numbers are followed by ), like 1) 2) etc. If I don't add stopper=) option, I get a numbered list, but it's not packed. If I add stopper=), the list becomes an unnumbered list, but packed. I use context standalone ConTeXt ver: 2016.09.24 12:40 MKIV beta. I attach the resulted pdfs. What do I do wrong? URL styling in btx bibliography

ConTeXters, Is there a user-level control for the styling of urls in the new bibliography system? I use \setupurl[style=\addff{f:ns}\ss] (where f:ns is a fontfeature definition for lining/new style numerals) for the rest of the document. The bibliography honors this formatting for urls present in bibtex note entries, but persists in serif and oldstyle (the document defaults) for urls provided by bibtex url entries. -- Rik

[Far out subproject proposal] ---Have ConTeXt generate html math inaddition to pdf/dvi ?

Hi, I was wondering if: -------------------------------- Basically have complete mathml markup or some other kind of html math output that is completely capable of doing what is now done for pdf output. This would elminate the need for the clumsy workarounds that mathjax, for example, provides---there appears to be no easy way to convert arbitarilly/personally written latex packages/classes into something that mathjax can understand. Obviously the original latex code could still remain in the resulting html/mathhtml output so that people would still have access to the "original" source code. One of my motivations is to allow for google translate to work on html math documents... it WORKS provided you add 'notranslate' to the spans: <span class="math inline">, <class="math display">latex math commands/span> etc environments. However LaTeX commands that mathjax is not familiar with are not rendered.... I realize this may be a better question on mathjax but I regard that project, while laudable, wrong headed as the real problem should be solved by a proper TeX-like engine like ConTeXt can solve this problem(s)? -------------------------------------------------------------- Roger Federer Fanatic Extraordinaire :-)
