How to fix a break

I'm getting "mtxrun | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua'" on the three line \starttext This is the text section. \stoptext This is the TeXLive distributed version and it worked yesterday. I'm pretty sure I messup up the paths or tex path database used by kpathse, etc. Is there a program I can run to go through a texlive installation and rebuild the TDS database? Thanks

TeX macro to MP variable

Hi, I am looking for a way to assign the value of a TeX macro to an MP variable. However, this only works the first time, then the value is not updated any longer. Example: \startMPdefinitions size = \somesize ; \stopMPdefinitions \startuseMPgraphic{alpha} fill unitcircle scaled size; \stopuseMPgraphic \starttext \def\somesize{1cm} \useMPgraphic{alpha} %% diameter = 1cm \def\somesize{2cm} \useMPgraphic{alpha} %% diameter = 1cm \stoptext I looked into \setupMPvariables, but I couldn't manage to assign them to an MP variable. The setups key from \defineMPinstance seems to to the job, but it's TeX, not MetaPost. What comes to mind is a \processMPbuffer before every MPgraphic: \startbuffer[foo] size := \somesize ; \stopbuffer \startuseMPgraphic{alpha} fill unitcircle scaled size; \stopuseMPgraphic \starttext \def\somesize{1cm} \processMPbuffer[foo] \useMPgraphic{alpha} %% diameter = 1cm \def\somesize{2cm} \processMPbuffer[foo] \useMPgraphic{alpha} %% diameter = 2cm \stoptext Is there a better way? Hi, After some experimenting, I settled on the next interface for dynamic features: The is also a generic command \type {\feature} that takes two arguments. Below we show all calls, with long and short variants: \starttyping \addfeature [f:mine] \feature [more][f:mine] \feature[+][f:mine] \subtractfeature [f:mine] \feature [less][f:mine] \feature[-][f:mine] \replacefeature [f:mine] \feature [new][f:mine] \feature[=][f:mine] \resetandaddfeature[f:mine] \feature[local][f:mine] \feature[!][f:mine] \revivefeature [f:mine] \feature [old][f:mine] \feature[>][f:mine] \resetfeature \feature[reset] \feature[<] \stoptyping Each variant also accepts \type {{}} instead of \type {[]} so that they can conveniently be used in square bracket arguments. This mechanism replaces \addff cum suis, although for a while they will stay around (mapped onto add and subtract). Idris is testing it (as he used this kind of trickery extensively for complex arabic) and he make a nice wiki page. We can think of a predefined set of simple features. noalign hassles

I am stuck with the following problem. Inside an \halign (table) I can insert a colored rule with: \noalign{\color[red]{\hrule height#1 depth\zeropoint}} Now I want something more involved like: \color[red]{\hrule height#1 width2mm}% fixed length colored block \color[black]{\hrule height#1}% filling the width left \color[red]{\hrule height#1 width2mm}% fixed length colored block producing [red][black black black …][red] However, this doesn't work. I tried various options as: enclosing in \vbox, \hbox, box with leaders. Nothing worked out. Is there some guru who knows how to accomplish this? Hans van der Meer

switching language introduces spurious space

I find that in intro text \startnarrower narrow text \stopnarrower after text blank vertical space is inserted both before and after the narrower block. How can I avoid that? Hans van der Meer

Hi, There is a new experimental feature and (at least for now) it's also called \feature (maybe not the best name). Many fonts have language dependent features. There are also features that one only wants to enable in small text snippets. For this we have \addff etc but these don't accumulate. Maybe I have not made it clear, what I mean? My Minexample is: \setuplist[chapter][pagenumber=no] \starttext \completecontent \chapter{Chapter 1} \section{Section 1} \chapter{Chapter 2} \stoptext Now Chapter 1 is without pagenumber in the TOC, correct, because it has a section after the chapter-title! But Chapter 2 has no sections, so it need a page number, how to do that? Regards, Huseyin

no linebreaks after section command

after using the section command \\ doesn't work any longer. I'm using context for appr. one week so i'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug. here is an example: \starttext test\\test % works \section{Testing\\linebreaks} test\\test % doesnt work \stoptext btw: originally i tried to put line delimiters in the footer, is there a way to do this?
