Setting structureuservariable

Hello all, I've discovered the magic of structureuservariabl and have therefore converted all my headings to use the start/stop syntax. It's raised a few quick questions though: 1. Is \startchapter \stopchapter etc the "proper way" to do things from now on? Or is it really just up to the user? 2. Is there a way to provide a default value for a structureuservariable? I'd like to set a reference number based on a global counter if the user doesn't supply their own. 3. In a similar vein - is it possible to define a reference for a section if the user doesn't provide one. E.g. if they provide \startchapter[title=My Example Chapter] instead of: \startchapter[chap:examplechapter][title=My Example Chapter] can I set the reference for them? (I will have some sections that could be usefully auto-referenced). Many thanks in advance, Felix

Find all words set into the margin

I use \definefontfeature[default][default][expansion=quality,protrusion=quality] \setupalign[hz,hanging] \usetypescript[times] \setupbodyfont[times,11pt] \setuptolerance[verystrict] Is there a command or a macro to find all occurences in a file (or projekt), where some word is printed into the margin? (Maybe because of bad hyphenation or something else.) - Would be perfect for manual check-up and corrections! Thanks. Huseyin

2013.03.21 broken nightly?

Hey list, The last few nightlies, including the most recent one I have installed, 2013.03.21, keeps bailing when attempting to typeset one of my documents with the same error: ! Math typesetting problems

Hi all, I've run into a couple of problems with math typesetting. (I'm using the latest ConTeXt standalone beta.) The following doesn't print [x,x] at all: \startformula [x,x]_t = x \stopformula It can be fixed by using \left[x,x\right]_t, but I find the behaviour weird. Another problem I have is related to the positioning of minus signs in front of fractions. I would expect the minus sign to align with the horizontal line of the fraction, as it does on LaTeX. Below is an example formula to illustrate my point. The result seems to be independent of the font in use. \startformula -\frac{e^{\frac{4}{5}}}{4} \stopformula Janne

mathcases look different in mathalign and formula

Hi all, While playing with \startmathcases, I discovered some strange (maybe wanted?) behaviour of \startmathcases and \stopmathcases: - The interline spacing in mathcases is different depending on whether the mathcases are used in a mathalignment or a formula environment. - Lucida OpenType math has some nice curly brace that is also used in cases environments. However, if \startmathcases, \stopmathcases is used in some mathalignment environment and the cases contain subscripts, the curly brace disappears and some "straight" brace is used instead. - When using superscripts instead of subscripts, the curly brace reappears but the cases look like not vertically centered in both formula and mathalignment environments. I produced an example demonstrating the above observations. In my opinion, the disappearing curly brace is worst of all of them since one frequently has formulas both with and without subscripts on the same page and different braces are quite easily spotted. Unusual error in Math mode

Hello Everyone, \starttext $ E [ w ] = 1 $ \stoptext produces Eaw]=1 using my context (current version: 2013.03.29 01:03). Needless to say that the MWE works as expected on the Context live @ contextgarden. I have no clue as to how to go about debugging the problem. So did a fresh install in a different directory but still get exactly the same result. I will be grateful for any suggestions on how to identify the problem in my context installation. -- Cheers, Devendra
