Dump table of contents

Hey list, Is it possible to instruct ConTeXt to generate just the table of contents, skipping all other front matter, back matter, appendices, body matter, etc.? For example, only the following I'd like to see in the outputted PDF: % Contents at a glance... \title{Contents at a Glance} \placelist[chapter] % Complete table of contents... \title{Table of Contents} \placecontent Right now I am generating the full book, but then passing through pdftk manually to extract just the pages that fall within the aforementioned. issue with columns

Hi there, I'm experiencing a weird result when typesetting columns: \starttext The first line not using columns. \startcolumns[n=2] \input knuth \column \input tufte \stopcolumns The second line not using columns. \startcolumns \input linden \column \input ward \stopcolumns \stoptext I don't know why ward isn't typeset on the first page? index for Japanese alphabet

Hi, I would like to include an index with Japanese terms, ordered according to the Japanese alphabet. I can say \index[kanji]{漢字} for an entry under K. For my Japanese index I imagine \index[かんじ]{漢字} to place an entry under か. Is something like this possible? The Japanese alphabet fits (almost) into a 5x10 table. Depending on the size of the index, it is customary to order an index either by column only (for a smaller index) or by table entry (top-to-bottom, right-to-left). I'd be happy with either, although the smaller one will probably suffice for my purposes... Any help on how to implement this? Many thanks, as always, Severin

Issues with linetables

There are some issues with linetables. In the current version: 2012.04.07 14:42 linetables don't compile at all, example: \starttext \setuplinetable [n=2] \startlinetable \NC \input knuth \NC \input knuth \NC\NR \NC \input knuth \NC \input knuth \NC\NR \stoplinetable \stoptext Given the context version 2011.05.18 18:04 there seems to be a bug in linetables; the lines are not aligned when the columns are distributed on several pages and the lines don't fall on the same page. One-page linetables work fine. starting batch file after first of at least two runs

Hi, In the first run I collect several ImageMagick commands in a common batch file, which should be executed afterwards. A second run is also needed to include the created graphics. I tried \appendtoks\mycommand\to\everygoodbye but that does not work properly, if only one run is needed otherwise. So I need to tell ConTeXt somehow, that an additional run is needed (adding the number of runs to the command line is no option). Currently I use if tex.modes["*first"] then ... end to detect the first run. My first try was to add an 'else' condition to call the batch file once, but sadly this is also not triggered in case of a single run... What is the official way (mkiv) to add a call at the end of the first run (or the beginning of the second run)? And how can I ensure, that a second run is forced? Peter

colon in lucida math

I get the impression there is something wrong with typesetting math with the lucida setup in ConTeXt. I find that the \colon is not printed. Below is a minimal example. See the colon in the first formula that is absent in the second. Perhaps someone is willing to check if this is ConTeXt in general or my own setup in particular. In both cases I will be pleased with a remedy. [***SPAM***] whitespace also before xtables

Hi there, I'm trying to add a whitespace before an xtable (just to be spaced as any other paragraph). I wanted to do that in the \setupxtable, before=\whitespace or top=\whitespace don't seem to work. Sorry, but which is the right option to do that? Pagereference not working!?

Dear ConTeXt user's, Today I upgraded to the latest MkIV release 2012.04.06! I noticed that the \pagereference command is not working any more. Page referencing between external documents isn't working either! Please run the included example file! Regards, Gerard Verhaag

Nested itemize

Hello, is there an option for \startitemize or \setupitemize or \setupitemgroup: ---- \startitemize \item A \startitemize \item B \stopitemize \stopitemize ---- to get: 1. A 1.1 B (= nested item has its parent numbers, too) or rather 1. A 1.1 B (= nested item has its parent numbers, too; no indenting of nested items) instead of 1. A 1. B (= normal result) ?
