xmlfiles and url address

Hello, when I turn off the compression [extend=0.8] -> [extend=1] the problems are gone :-) ... the compression unfourtunately also :-( What do I have to configure to get the compression without spaces? :-) Regards Jannis ===== copy Hello, if I compress a font, there are suddenly hidden spaces between words. You can't see the spaces in the PDF, but when you copy the text from the PDF to an editor you can see the spaces. And when you search for a word (with hidden spaces) in the PDF, the word can't be found. This is the result when you copy the text from the PDF into an editor: "The quick brow n fox jum ps over the lazy dog." There is a space in "brow n" and one in "jum ps". When you search for "brown" in the PDF you get no result. Here is an example: \definefontfeature[cond][default][extend=0.8] \usemodule[simplefonts] \setmainfont[Allerlight][features=cond] \starttext The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. \stoptext How to get rid of this hidden spaces? Italicized text trailing space too small

ConTeXt and Blackletter fonts

Hi list, I have problems typesetting various blackletter fonts with context (up to 2012.01.03 with luatex beta-0.70.1-2011051923 (rev 4277) using the suite). Here's an example (using oldengl.ttf[1]): --- \starttext \definedfont[file:oldengl*default] \input knuth \stoptext -- The resulting PDF[2] has a wide space between each of the letters. Is this a problem with the font(s) itself or with context/luatex? (As a comparison I've tested these fonts with OpenOffice as well, and had no such issues.) How to define a command...

Hi all, I need to define numerical coefficients (essentially at random) and then use them with commands, say like \CoeffAlpha, \CoeffBeta, and so on. More precisely, how can I define the command \RandomCoeff, so that \RandomCoeff{Beta}{1}{10} yields a command named \CoeffBeta, which is a random number chosen between 1 and 10? The macro \expandoneargafter seems to have been disappeared. Is that true? I need it for repairing an appearent failure in the \Word macro to capitalize the first letter in some case. Hans van der Meer

\rotate broken

Hi, The latest beta seems to have broken the \rotate command. \starttext \rotate{Test} \stoptext gives the following error ! CLD: context.getvariable as Lua variable

Hello, I'm relatively quite new to TeX world. This is my first message to list. I hope you understand me, English isn't my mother language. I'm trying to use a variable set by \setvariable in Lua. I tried some combinations, based on manual but I couldn't succeed. The code below exemplifies what I wanted to do. \starttext \setvariable{namespace}{var}{Some context} \ctxlua{ local s = context.getvariable("namespace", "var") if s == "" then ... else ... end } \stoptext I know that I can use some of \if* TeX commands, but coding in Lua is better to me. -- Wagner Macedo
