level setting has no effect in TOC

Hello, it seems like the "level" parameter has no effect in mkiv. It works as expected in mkii. Is it a bug or there is different way how to do that in mkiv? Ragards Zdenek example: \starttext \setupcombinedlist[content][level=1,alternative=c] \completecontent \chapter{A} \section{a} \section{b} \subsection{I} \subsection{II} \chapter{B} \section{a} \section{b} \subsection{I} \subsection{II} \stoptext

Hi Bernhard, Did you ever try \startcombination? I feel like it could solve your problem, but not sure... > there is a nice LaTeX package called floatrow. Most of the things what it does you can do with ConTeXt much more easily expect (i think) one thing: placing more than one picture in a given width with automatic rescaling of the images so all images in one row have the same height. This feature is really handy for me. Maybe there is something in ConTeXt which does the same and i´m missing something? Regards, Vyatcheslav

Error using Minimal with TeXworks

Hi! After a long time without having time to play with ConTeXt, I reinstalled a new Minimals using the manual method with rsync, added TeXworks in the proper folder. Under Texworks, I also pointed to the bin folder of Context. But when compiling a document, I get: MTXrun | fileio: no cnf files found (TEXMFCNF may not be set/known) MTXrun | fileio: remembering file 'mtx-context.lua' MTXrun | fileio: remembering file 'mtx-contexts.lua' MTXrun | fileio: remembering file 'mtx-context.lua' MTXrun | fileio: remembering file 'context.lua' MTXrun | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua' Any solution? Also, is it possible to run ConTeXt from MikTeX 2.8? Regards, Alain Delmotte

xpdf segmentation fault

Hello, I don't know, if this is a ConTeXt problem (wrong PDF) or an xpdf problem. Here the test-file, whose pdf-result xpdf cannot read: \setupinteraction[state=start] \placebookmarks[chapter] \starttext \chapter{bla} \stoptext Should I report this to the xpdf-authors? colors without \definecolor

Hi all, I understand that in order to use a color with \color[somecolor]{colored text} I first have to \definecolor[somecolor][r=.4,g=0,b=1]. Currently I'm trying to do automated colorizing with the help of some lua code and I'd like to make up rgb vectors on the spot without having to \definecolor them first, e.g. something like \color[r=.4,g=0,b=1] {colored text}. Is there a way to achieve this in mkiv? (Right now I'm assigning new rgb values to the same color "name" whenever the function is called that concatenates the next \color[]{} statement. Hi, Blanks with glue do not work with MkIV. For example, \defineblank[test][3pt plus 1pt minus 1pt] \starttext some text \blank[test] some text \stoptext gives ! DIY toc (or similar list)

Hi experts, I'm thinking about a new presentation style and need some general advice from the TeXperts. I would like to have a list of topics on some area of the slide (similar to s-pre-19.tex). However, if at all possible, I would like it to be a bit fancier. Let's say I want the list of topics typeset in gray frames in a black font, but the current topic in a blue frame with a white font. Would this be possible with something like \definelist? Is there any notion of "currentlistitem" or "currentmarking" in such lists? Or, even better: would it be possible to have access to the single members of a list and maybe compare them to a current value and then typeset them accordingly? Something like this pseudocode: for member in topiclist do if member == currentvalue <some fancy framing and metapost stuff with member> else <less fancy but still nice-looking metapost stuff> end end Or am I trying to reinvent the wheel here? simple usage of \hpos

Hello, How can I place an element as background at a previously defined position? Here a test-file to show what I'm looking for: \definelayer[graphics][position=yes] \setupbackgrounds[page][background=graphics] \starttext Here is some text. I would like to appear a graphics exactly behind \hpos{XXX}{HERE}. How can I do this, without measuring by hand the x- and y-offsets, and perhaps also without using metapost? Such a command would be fine: \type{\placeatpos[XXX]{my background figure}}, or \type{\setlayer[graphics][location=XXX]{...}}. \setlayer[graphics][dx=128mm, dy=-27mm]{\externalfigure[hacker.jpg][width=1cm]} \stoptext TIA for any help! Changing Index Format

Could someone point me to documentation that describes how to change the format of the index created by \placeindex and \completeindex? In particular, I want to get rid of the entries created for the letters of the alphabet because I find them an unnecessary use of space. Rotated footnotes?
