I played with typescripts and have a problem. I can use the beramono font in this way: \definefont [Bera] [fvmr8a at 9.5pt] \starttext \Bera \input knuth \stoptext but how would I insert it into a typescript of libertine, where the mono font should used from bera? This did not work: ... \starttypescript[libertine] \definetypeface[libertine][rm][serif][libertine][default] \definetypeface[libertine][ss][sans] [libertine][default] \definetypeface[libertine][tt][mono] [file:fvmr8a.pfb] [default][rscale=0.85] \definetypeface[libertine][mm][math] [modern] [default] \stoptypescript ... TYPE 1 font

I have a pfb and tfm file of the DANTE font, which has only the five characters D,A,N,T,E However, this did not work \definefont[dante][dante at 16pt] \starttext \dante DANTE \stoptext When I create a afm file from the dante.pfb then everything is fine. Does ConTeXt always needs an afm-file for the metrics of an type 1 font? And, of course, a map file? Herbert

Dotted leader in index entries

[Now with a proper example!] Hello all. I'm using Mk II. I need to set up dotted leaders between an index entry and its page number as show in this runnable sample: \def\Icmd#1{#1\dotfill} \setupregister[index][n=2,textcommand=\Icmd,distance=1em,alternative=A] \starttext \index{Example+This index entry doesn't quite work}\index{This is okay}\index{Example+This is okay}\index{This index entry is not correct at all}\index{Example+This is another example in which the leaders don't work cos of wrapping}A little text.\par \placeindex \stoptext When the entry text is just long enough to fill up the horizontal space it is pushing the number over onto the next line. What I really need is for all page numbers to be at the right hand side, with leading dots. So I'd like a solution to produce either this: Long index entry text ....................123 or this: Long index entry text..............123 At the moment I'm putting forced line breaks before the last word to achieve what I need, but I would really like to automate this! Thanks for any help, hope the issue is clear. Duncan

itemize and [] question

hello all: I'm shure this is a silly question, but in this code, the second item [Fiesta] disappears -but the dot remains- and in the first item the text inside the brackets is ok. Purpose of backend (export=yes)

Hi. (I'm reading this ML but rarely ask questions.) I try to understand the purpose of 'setupbackend'. Consider the following three examples: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- <example name="ex1.tex"> \setupbackend[export=yes] \starttext This is simple example. No font switching, no math. \stoptext </example> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- <example name="ex2.tex"> \setupbackend[export=yes] \starttext This is second example. This time we try to use font switching mechanism: This is normal, but this \bold{one is bold}. Normal again. \stoptext </example> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- <example name="ex3.tex"> \setupbackend[export=yes] \starttext This is third example with 'backend' 'export=yes'. Now we try simple math: This is inline formula $E=mc^{2}$. This is display formula \startformula E=mc^{2} \stopformula \stoptext </example> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I compiled them with context (mkIV, context minimal) and got ex{1,2,3}.export. I thought that I get not only the document content but also its logical structure (for example some markup for font switching). Is it true that 'backend' only output document content not its logic strcuture? Does it work with math? The third example gives for math only not letters. I attached the resulted export files. P.S. Then I saw the announce about 'backend' & 'export=yes' I thought that context would be good tool for notes. I imagine that I could wrote a text file and make from it either pdf (for printing/screening) or html (for screening) or may be convert xml (using existing tools and methods) to other formats (rtf/odt/xhtml) that would contain math, images, tables. Subject marking in MkIV

Hi I was trying to answer a question on tex.stackexchange (http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/5166/) when I noticed that marking does not work the same way in MkIV as it did in MkII. Consider the following minimal example: \startsetups footer \getmarking[subject][first]\space - \getmarking[subject][last]\space - \pagenumber \stopsetups \setupfootertexts[][\setups{footer}] \starttext \subject{One} \input knuth \subject{Two} \input knuth \subject{Three}\input knuth \subject{Four} \input knuth \stoptext In MkII I get "One - Three - 1" in the footer of the first page. In MkIV, the subject markings are missing. I think that the reason is that for non numbered heads, section key is not set in \definestructurehead, so no marking gets defined for them. What is the easiest way to enable subject marking in MkIV? I am using an old beta from 2010.10.14 but I do not think that anything this fundamental has changed in the last month. Aditya

helping on "Wiki Command Reference"

Hi, would it be useful to write examples in the Wiki Command Reference manual, or will there be some automatism that imports that information from some other source? Most keywords have empty descriptions. Should users fill them in? Is there a reliable and complete reference for the commands somewhere?
