Fifth ConTeXt meeting, September 2011, France

Hello everyone, This must be the second thread I initiate this year on the list, but unlike my previous post (http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2010/048296.html), this is actually serious. I hereby announce the next ConTeXt meeting, that will take place on the island of Porquerolles off the coast of the French Riviera, from Monday, September 19th, 2011, to Saturday, September 24th. The conference venue has been pre-booked for these dates, so this is firm. Of course, there is yet nothing like a set program at this moment, so we're expecting your proposals (there will be a formal call for papers later). Watch this page: http://meeting.contextgarden.net/2011/ Registration is not yet open, but will be in a few weeks. The fee is notably higher than it was for the previous ConTeXt meetings (see http://meeting.contextgarden.net/2011/fee.shtml). I'm sorry about that, but that is the best I can do in this place, short of feeding on black roots and camping in the woods or on the beach (which is forbidden anyway on the island, it's a protected area apart for the village). But food will instead be excellent, obviously, and wine is included in the price of the meals (that was actually one of the first things I was told by the people at the conference venue). Bibliography -- complete inline citations in footnotes

Hi, I'm new to ConTeXt and I'm greatly appreciating the rejuvenation it brings me in typesetting after several years using LaTeX. I'm confronted to a few little problems though, the main one being that I'd need to have references both in the footnotes and at the end of a document. Under LaTeX I found that the "inlibib" package is doing exactly that, inserting some "ibid" and "op.cit." when required for repeting references. After reading the bibmod-doc, I thought I would temporarly solve the problem by simply using \setuppublications[refcommand=data] which I thought would put the reference in the same format as in the bibliography, but it doesn't compile. Does any one have a solution? Piotr

\stretched in chapter titles in MKII

I am trying to stretch two lines of text to the same width for use as a chapter head. I have two major problems: 1. The second line of text is appended to the end of the first line instead of being placed below it. 2. I get errors when using #1 and #2 as values, i.e {Chapter #1} and {#2}. Hi, how do I change the numbering of subfootnote from eg. "2.1" to "2a"? Problem typing file with diacritics by \typefile

Hello, I have problem. Suppose having t-TypeF.ctx which is to print itself: --- \enableregime[cp1250] \starttext ABC ŽŠČ \typefile[]{t-TypeF.ctx} \stoptext --- The letters "ŽŠČ" to be printed during \typefile are the problem. I get a long error message, where the key message is: l.9 \typefile[]{t-TypeF.ctx} ! String contains an invalid utf-8 sequence. system > error on line 73 in file t-TypeF.ctx: String contains an invalid utf-8 sequence ... l.73 ´┐Ż The file is created with CP 1250 = Windows, Eastern Europe, Czech Republic. So how do I make ctx accept also Czech letters with diacritics like "ŽŠČ"? - I also looked to wiki to \setuptyping, but it doesn't seem to there would be a command which could change this. cjk texts in the pdf file which MkIV output sometimes can not be copy rightly

Hi all, For the pdf file which is generated frome the following example, two Chinese characters can not be copied rightly when I use simsun.ttc font and use *Adobe Reader* to view it. The copy text is displayed as the wrong unicode text such as "􁨀". However these glyphs can be copied rightly if I use AdobeSongStd.otf font or I use other pdf reader such as evince. \definefont[song][file:simsun] \starttext \song 描 $\overline{q}$ 提 \stoptext The attachment for this mail is that pdf file with simsun.ttc font which can be downloaded from http://code.google.com/p/way2ctx/downloads/list This situation is not general. ConText, TikZ and definecolor: undefined control sequence

Hi, I've been trying to get colors to work in TikZ, and found a nice fix by Aditya here: http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/20100120.220124.f2d3f8bc.en.html The problem is that the lua script doesn't work: I get a problem with 'colors'. letter module, vertical offset of reference line

Hi, I need to adjust the vertical position of the reference line (as well as subject, opening etc.) because the info-block is longer than the addressee-block to the left. With alternative=customized I can use \setupletterstyle [firstpage] [topspace=...] However with alternative a and e setting topspace has no effect. Also \setupletterstyle [reference] [voffset=...] changes the offset for alternative=customized, only. Best, Florian

Thousands of words and concepts are already layed down in characters. These characters therefore can be considered icons. \par \stoptext %----------------------------------------------------- The setting location=serried is useless here in fact of the empty line after \definition{icon}. If I delete the line and add another entry like \definition{iconize} some text here then I can see that the setting sample={icon} has no meaning. It is only taken into account _without_ location=serried. Herbert
