PDF X/1a:2001 is an old pdf standard still required by some important American printers. Han The Thanh et al. has created a package for pdfLatex. I wonder if there is a route to this output using Context? -- John Culleton Able Indexers and Typesetters

A problem with \useURL or \from

Hi, With current context and luatex revision 3038 I use this sample: \setupinteraction[state=start] \setupurl[color=blue] \starttext \useURL[here][http://google.com] \from[here] \stoptext It compiles with the link shown correctly but in greenish color. Pressing on it, the browser tries to visit http://here/ . I am not sure where the source of the problem is, context or luatex. Thank you, Eythan

lang-ita.tex is broken for spanish

Footnotes and body text

Why are pretty printer names uppercased?

Hi all, according to the wiki, and the current code, the arguments to \installprettytype should be uppercased. E.g.: \installprettytype [PHP] [PHP] Referring to them should be uppercased as well: \definetyping[PHP] [option=PHP] \setuptyping[option=PHP] However, the filename should be lowercase, e.g. pret-php.lua and the pretty printer should register itself in lowercase as well: buffers.newvisualizer("lua"). The first thing that happens to the arguments of installprettytype is to lowercase them, and every option= argument that points to a pretty printer is lowercased by setvisualizer in lua before being used. If everything is lowercased, why do we still recommend the arguments to \installprettytype and option= to be uppercase? IMHO this makes things confusing when trying to understand which PHP refers to which php or PHP in the greater picture of things. Why not recommend people to use lowercase identifiers instead, since we're changing everything into lowercase anyway? Or perhaps go a bit further and remove the lowercasing code alltogether, since I don't see any real gain. If the strings / filenames should just match exactly, things will get a lot more predictable? Section labels in appendices (appendixlabel=)

Hello, I have some problems interpreting the ConTeXt manual. If I want to have the appendices labeled as Appendix A: My first appendix Appendix B: My second appendix ... what is wrong with the following approach? \setupsection [section] [appendixconversion=Character, appendixlabel=appendix] \setuplabeltext [sl] [appendix=Priloga~] \mainlanguage[sl] \starttext \startappendices \section{My first appendix} \stopappendices \stoptext I know that I can use something like \setuplabeltext [sl] [section=Priloga~] and will probably do that at the end (by defining my own header type), I'm just wondering what I'm missing in the approach above. Also, I suspect that conversion to Character doesn't work in MKIV (but I don't need it at the moment). Thanks, Mojca

Arabic OpenType kerning

Kerning doesn't seem to work with TRT direction, in the attached axample (using the attached font), enabling kerning with TRT direction inserts positive kern between first kern pair and nothing between the rest (it should be negative kern). "Overlays" with metapost

Hello, is it possible to achieve an overlay effect with metapost like in the attached picture (a photo and a pin in the upper left corner)? I could load both images but I can't control the position where the pin is inserted. Is this possible by other means? thank you! Regards Erik

Current beta says it needs luatex 0.42, but really needs 0.43

Hi, I just upgraded to the latest beta, and got an error saying I need luatex 0.42. I have 0.42, but a quick glance at context.mkiv shows that it really wants luatex 0.43 (so the error message is wrong). Gr. Matthijs
