Proper way to point removed text?

What is the proper way in english printing to show that some text has been removed from a quote? In (brazilian) Portuguese, we use [...], for instance: Depois de mencionadas outras questões, comentou-se o ocorrido. can quoted as [...] comentou-se o ocorrido. Is there a name for that? context installation on Windows XP

I am having touble installling CONTEX (and metafun) on Windows XP. I downloaded and installed Texlive. I am able to run Latex and some other programs, but I tried various ways, unsuccesfully, to run context. For example I tried running texmfstart texexec.rb hello.tex and some other combinations, and nothing happened. I went to the PRAGMA-ADE website and downoaded cont-tmf into the texmf-local directory and unzipped it. Then I tried texexec -make -all and a few other combinatins and nothing happened. I have Perl v5.10 installed, and I use editor EMACS with AUCTEX assistance would be much appreciated, Philip Brown

figure captions in the margin

Hello, I want to have captions for figures, listings and other stuff inside the document margin. So the code \setupcaptions[location=outermargin] \starttext \placefigure{Caption}{\framed{Figuur}} \stoptext still prints no caption at all. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and ConTeXt from the repositories. Is this version too old? Thank You. Module installation

Installation of modules ======================= Basics –––––– The installation of extra files in TeX (called modules in ConTeXt) can be hard for people how are new in TeX or aren't interested in TeX programming themselve. According to the TDS (TeX directory structure) and the ConTeXt developers user written files reside under the path $TEXMF/tex/context/third/<modulename>/<files> in the private TeX directory ($TEXMF), private directories can have the names • texmf-local • texmf-extra • texmf-project but there existence depend on the TeX distribution and texmf-local is the most common one. Installation by hand –––––––––––––––––––– When you want to install a new module which is available as file only create the subdirectories in the way described above and place the file there, for modules which are available as zip files with precreated subdorectories you can unzip the archive in the top-level directory (e.g. texmf-local/) and all files are on the correct place. After the files are placed at the right place you have to update TeX's database to let it know where it can find the files, this is done for MkII with mktexlsr (command name depends on the TeX distribution) and for MkIV with context --generate ConTeXt minimals –––––––––––––––– Users of the ConTeXt minimals dont't have to download the module files and unzip them in the local directory because they can use the 'first-setup' for this. simplefonts?

Hi, I'm installing minimals on my new macbook, and luckily, my instructions on wiki still works :) I've been able to build the font tree and I've seen with great pleasure that there's a simplefonts module. If I run from minimals this (from wiki): \usemodule[simplefonts] % load the module \setmainfont[Delicious] % set Delicious as main (serif) font \starttext \rm\tf roman \it italic \bf bold \bi bolditalic \sc smallcaps \stoptext I have !
