Hi Folks ! I'm currently writting a technical report in which I need to type some XML an non-XML text. Sample file (xml_test.tex): I have some custom XML text (trivial) + a not-so-complicated xsl transformation (a part is included within the test file). I know there is verb-xml but... I need to improve it to support xpath expr. More over, I want to preserve the initial indentation. The point is now, how to improve verb-xml to support xpath expressions ? I'm working with Mark II... Should I switch to Mark IV if I want to write a new XML verbatim support (with lua)? + the bonus question: I want to add some support for the RelaxNG Compact syntax, should I follow the procedure described on the wiki or switch to Mark IV ? context minimals "path and directory structure" question

Hello! I'm using context-minimal version: 2008.10.01 19:13 and have a generally question. I'm writing several documents with similar structure and design and have collected all common settings in "settings.tex" like following: \startenvironment settings ... ... ... \stopenvironment and just do the usual invoking by in anything.tex \environment settings \starttext ... ... ... \stoptext I've installed the "minimals" structure in /home/$USER/context/... on my ubuntu 8.04 machine. Now to the question: Where in this "structure" do I place "settings.tex" so it can be found by context from anywhere in my document-structure? I suppose I should do something like "context --make" after placing the file. If I do the usual upgrade what happens then? Is there a more efficient way doing similar tasks, like writing a module? bib module not to break page?

Hi, I am using the bib module in context. The problem is that \completepublications always starts a new page to place reference list. Is there any configuration available such that not to break pages between main part and the reference? Thanks. -- Zhaopeng XING Tinbergen Institute

linear_shade and xetex

Hi, linear shading in MP does not work with xetex. Consider \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext \startMPcode path p ; p := unitsquare xyscaled (5cm,5cm) ; linear_shade(p,1,red, blue) ; \stopMPcode \stoptext This runs fine with pdftex and luatex, but with xetex I get ! XeTeX old style numerals

Hi guys, Why doesn't this definition use the old style numerals that come with the font? It seems to use the latin modern font when I try to use \os. Small caps are working fine. I'd like all the numbers in the document to be typeset in old style numerals unless I tell it otherwise, btw how do I achieve the latter? As in break out of onum and typeset in the normal numbers? installing latest beta (Minimals)

My attempt to update my ConTeXtMinimals using ./first-setup.sh failed. The message reported was: mkiv lua stats : loaded fonts - none ! Reading the source...?

Hi, assume that I would like to read some parts of the ConTeXt source (to learn something interesting, to learn how to do that-and-that in ConTeXt, or just for fun;)). Where do I start? I mean: what is the non-terribly-difficult way for the beginner? I have rather good expertise in plain TeX and also some in LaTeX (if this helps). Inleft text not verticaly aligned

Hello I tried to get some sections without any title and with numbering in the margin. Labelling figures

Hi, what is the best method to add labels to a figure; I want them not only on the figure but their position should be relative to the figure size. I tried start/stopfigure (mentioned as outdated in the source) but the label is not shown. \setupexternalfigures[location={local,global,default}] \starttext \startfigure[kuh][cow] \referring(1,1)(1,1)[r:horn] \stopfigure \externalfigure[kuh] \stoptext After this I tried collector and got with a little extra and a box and to dimens what I wanted but it's not very elegant. \setupexternalfigures[location={local,global,default}] \starttext \newbox\labelbox \setbox\labelbox\hbox{\externalfigure[cow]} \newdimen\labelwidth \labelwidth \wd\labelbox \newdimen\labelheight \labelheight\ht\labelbox \definecollector[label][state=repeat] \setcollector[label]{\box\labelbox} \setcollector[label][x=.65\labelwidth,y=.75\labelheight]{udder} \placefigure {A labelled cow} {\flushcollector[label]} \stoptext Figurelabel as described in the label manual [1] seem to be the perfect solution but the module was finished :-( Is there not better way to achieve what I want and do I have to live with my second method or could I hope for the future.
