Hi, I bumped into a strange question. I used the following commands to set up the layout: \setuplayout[marking=color,location=middle, backspace=4.25pc, cutspace=20pc, topspace=4.25pc, bottomspace=7.5pc, footerdistance=3.5pc, footer=12pt, margindistance=2pc, header=0pc, headerdistance=0pc, leftmargin=0pc, height=middle, weight=middle] but when I change the value of cutspace here, nothing changes. TeXFont bug?

Dear gang, In a recent font install, TeXFont, with --show option did what it was supposed to, except that it did not process the resulting TeX file. Instead I get: irun: no perl.exe script of name texexec.pl can be found. Aborting. irun: CreateProcess 3 OTOH, I can run the tex file manually so all should be well. But it's still an apparent bug. Metapost and CMYK

Hi all, I have some questions about cmyk in combination with Metapost. Just by using \setupcolors[state=start, cmyk=yes, mpcmyk=yes, rgb=no, ] I get cmy(k=0) graphics, although all used colors are still defined in the rgb color space. This is really a nice feature and the automatic color conversion works relative good. Only (so far I have seen) gray tones have a noticeable tendency to brown (Acroreader 7.09). I have tested one of those gray tones by defining it as cmyk and the result looks ok. RGB(223,223,227) CMY(0.12548, 0.12547, 0.10980) CMYK(0.01762, 0.01760, 0, 0.10980) So is there a way to get cymk instead of cmy? Peter

Indenting tables

All - I am creating simple tables like this \starttable[|l|l|l|l|] \HL \VL \bf Time Frame \VL \bf SAN A \VL \bf SAN B \VL \bf SAN C \VL \AR \HL \VL 10pm to 6am - Backup \VL 1500 MB/s \VL 1500 MB/s \VL 1500 MB/s \VL \AR \HL \VL 6am to 10pm – NBU Vaulting \VL \rightarrow \VL \rightarrow \VL 4500MB/s \VL \AR \HL \stoptable The table is created fine, but I would like it to be "centered" in the surrounding text. The current table starts at the left page margin, rather than where the text starts. Is there a simple way to "indent" the left edge of the table to match the surrounding text? How to make a "natural" table float.

My task requires alternating whate and gray bars for a table. I was happy to jump on the Natural Table facility. Further, I want the table to "float" in the classic TeX fashion. I don't know the exact code for this in Context. Manuals

In the NTG MAPS journal of last fall Hans Hagen has written an article titled "What tools do ConTeXt users have?" It broadly describes the many changes and additions to the ConTeXt Perl tools on account of the switch to Ruby tools. In several places a manual or different manuals are pointed to. For example in the section "On launching scripts" it says: "More details can be found in the manual". In the section on "The tools collection" it reads: "Each tool comes with a manual, so we will not discuss details here". These manuals seem very interesting, but I have not being able to find them. They are not in the docs-directory of cont-tmf.zip distribution, nor in the scripts/context/ruby folders. The article does not have url's pointing manual-containing url's. Presumably I am overlooking them; mtexmfstart.pdf I could locate on the pragma site, mtexutil.pdf is on the perl script and seemingly obsolete because texutil is not mentioned in the said article. But manuals on mpstools, mpstools, rlxtools, runtools, to name a few, elude me. Please can someone be of help here. As an aside, a suggestion to Hans Hagen: the documents section of the site does not show the last version date of the manuals. That would be handy in order to prevent downloading of already downloaded stuff. Thanks. Hans van der Meer

Page number on 'chapter' pages

Hi all, I'm using ConTeXt to layout my phd thesis and I need to follow some rather strict rules. One of these is that every page must be numbered. I'm having some trouble adding numbers to the page where the chapter starts and the preceding page (where I place a famous quotation). Below are the definitions in my environment. Any ideas on how to add page numbers to these pages? Bibliography broken after upgrade?

Hi all, I'm using a project/product/component document structure with a recently upgraded version of ConTeXt (via gwTeX). I was previously using a version near 2006.01.xx but decided to upgrade rather than try and patch some of the quirky layout bugs I encountered. Unfortunately, the bibliography module no longer seems to find the references listed in a .bbl when adding the bib module to the product file. Attached is a trivial example of what I have. Running texexec on the component file (cmp_test_bib.tex) results in: texexec --pdf cmp_test_bib texexec --pdf prd_test ... publications : warning: cite argument test1:2001 is unknown on 139 publications : warning: cite argument test1:2001 is unknown on 139 publications : warning: cite argument test1:2001 is unknown on 139 publications : warning: cite argument test2:2002 is unknown on 139 but these references are in cmp_test_bib.bbl file so I'm rather puzzled. Note, however, that when I place the module info into a single file with the text, everything works ok? texexec --pdf test_bib.tex Any ideas on how I can get this working? linking words and graphics

I should like to make occurrences of the the string “Figure p” appear as links in my document that will take the reader to Figure p elsewhere in the same document. Is there a way to do this using ConTeXt? Alan
