I had originally put up a web article on page layout, ConTeXt, and XML. As I said in my original email, the location of that webpage was only temporary. The new address of the webpage is: http://getfo.sourceforge.net/context_xml/index.html The webpage is far from finished. I plan to add many more sections and edit some of the existing ones. Just glancing over the pages, I see many typos. In a similar matter, I had originally started this documentation on the wikki. Can I now remove those pages? (I realize I probably don't need permisssion, but I don't want to remove a page and then have the wikki administrator put it back up.) The page on the wikki is out of date and incorrect in many instances. Also, someone on this email list was nice enough to include a link to the yahoo page. Suppress routine messages.

Split table across pages.

-- If one has a long table that splits across several pages, and the first line of the table is really the headers for the columns, is there a convenient way to have the headers automatically inserted on each successive page that contains part of the table? batch getafm conversion

Dear gang, I found a TeXLive utility, getafm, that generates an afm file from a pfb file. I need to generate a large number of afms, but I'm having difficulty getting this utility to work: getafm <myfont.pfb> > <myfont>.afm works fine, but getafm *.pfb > *.afm does not. There does not appear to be any help info for getafm either; getafm -h[--help] actually generates an on-screen afm listing(?) Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do this? Dear musketeers, Instead of, say, \usetypescriptfile[type-ugm] \usetypescript[URWGaramond] \setupbodyfont[urwgaramond,10pt] I would like to define a single command as follows, using the ConTeXt option method instead of \def{}{}{}: \globalbodyfont[type-ugm][URWGaramond][urwgaramond,10pt] I would like to learn how to do this. Fixme replacement

Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows of a similar macro in CoNTeXt to the LaTeX \Fixme package <http://www.tug.org/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/fixme.html>. What fixme allowed me to do that I have yet to figure out in context is make inline notes "\fxnote" or marks "\fxwarning" "\fxerror" that would then in draft mode print either margin or footnotes where the change was needed. It was very handy when, as an editor, wanting to make quick comments in proofing. Fixme also prints an index of all the fixmes. Any ideas? Hello, I have Slackware 10.1 system with full tetex installation. How to install the latest version of ConTeXt on this system? Where can I find installation instructions? Thanks for your help, Anand

btex-etex

Hallo, my ConTeXt ignore btex-etex command. It works as the btex-etex command is empty. No text on output. Simple example: \starttext \startuseMPgraphic{test} picture p; p := btex TEST etex scaled 5cm; draw p; \stopuseMPgraphic \useMPgraphic{test} \stoptext On output is only page number. In the 'mpgraph.mp' is (if a skip some definitions): ResetTextAreas ; SaveTextAreas ; ResetTextAreas ; if unknown context_core : input mp-core.mp ; fi ; local_multi_par_area:=false; ;; verbatimtex \global \loadfontfileoncetrue etex; let mprunend = end ; beginfig(1); picture p; p := btex TEST etex scaled 5cm; draw p; endfig; let end = mprunend ; end. If a extract a part with beginfig(1); picture p; p := btex TEST etex; draw p; endfig; end. and proccess it with mpost it works good. My ConTeXt comes from Fedora Core 3 distribution.
