Hi, is there a mechanism so that on is able to say \index[start from here]{great+topic} % we are on p3 blabla much material \index[stop there]{great+topic} % we are on p7 and the index will advertise the topic as great topic 3-7 Of course I don't want to put an \index at every page (I don't even know the page break when looking at the source file ;) This feature is especially nice when defining a concept in a manual. wasy symbol set

Hi ho! I needed some symbols from the wasy fonts (known from the LaTeX package wasysym), and here's the whole set for you. ;-) The ZIP contains the module symb-was.tex, the font map original- wasy.map and a test tex file. (The wasy fonts live in http://dante.ctan.org/CTAN/fonts/wasy2/, but they're part of most TeX installations.) I left out the mathematical operators and integrals for I don't know nothing about math and I guess that the stuff is already part of core math. symb-was.tex addresses only wasy10 (see below), but there are also wasy5-9 and wasyb10 (bold?) - how can I use these? (Don't know if that makes any sense.) \definefontsynonym [WaSy] [wasy10] \def\WaldiSymbol#1{\getglyph{WaSy}{\char#1}} If someone can tell if the math stuff is needed and if the font design size issue is fixed, I'd be happy if this module would make it into the core distribution. long quotation problem

I have been adapting some of my old Plain TeX macros to ConTeXt, using hints and suggestions from the ConTeXt wiki. What I have thus far works exactly as desired in the body text, but fails in the footnotes. I have appended some encoded text that shows the problem. Note the poor line-spacing and (unwanted) indentation in the first line of the quotation in the footnote: this quotation should look the same as the one in the body text. I realize that I could fix this simply by inserting a \noindent in the footnote, for instance. But I am trying to reduce the amount of thinking an coder has to do, and so would really like to define the startextract..\stopextract environment more effectively. Any pointers or suggestions for fixing this will be gratefully received. Header design

Hi, i have now try to setup the CD pagedesign. Please can anyone help me to find a solution for this setup ;-) What i need is: Title_of_the_document | section on the left hand side in the header. I have found a solution for the headerrule but for the text ... Hello Hans, (I guess you are the only person who can specify your previous answer), so please, is the file 'core-ntb-new.tex' somewhere available? Actually what I want. I have plenty of natural tables. If I want to make closer interline space between table lines the only way I know is to make smaller value of offset param. But after that, columns are too close together (framed object as a core of natural table does not distinguish between vertical and horizontal offsets). So bellow mentioned \setupTABLE[c][1][distance=2em] would be nice solution. So ones more, is the new code available? Thank you in advance for the answer. font-switching oddities

Hi all, I'm having some trouble with bodyfont switching. It involves two fonts that I adapted myself, so it's difficult to make a minimal example. Both fonts are defined in typescripts (these are just examples, it works the same for every typescript I tried). xml, context and hyphenation

Hello, I have problems with hyphenation when german öäü are in these words. I'm processing xml files which are in unicode. The font encoding for the pdf is EC (as I was told there are problems with OT1 encoded fonts). Any suggestions? Wolfgang

It's a complicated notation which is not flexible enough (I gave up since there were quite some cases for which I wasn't able to draw what I wanted to.) XymTeX is more powerful, but not supported by ConTeXt (although you can still draw single formulas in LaTeX and import them into ConTeXt as pictures) and still with very complex notation. (I would say that all you need is a better export from Chemdraw, but as this is a proprietary software I doubt that there are any specifications how to write an exporting module. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I wish I were.) I'm playing a bit with drawing formulas in metafun, but my question is: are there any guidelines about how a nice formula should look like? (Yes, I have problems to decide how thick the lines have to be, how to draw a triple or a steric bond properly, which size of letters to use). Knuth did a marvellous job with drawing math formulae in TeX, there are many books about typography, but I've never seen anything about chemistry and I haven't found anyone who could answer me this question.
