Hi! After discovering some details of ConTeXt during EuroTeX2009 I decided to try it. First problem, already encountered during EuroTeX: installation. On both of my machines the installation of the minimals failed. See attached file. For example: lines 13-14 rsync error, but at lines 26-30 it looks like it works, just a moment: after 30-35 I get 36-37 = error again. On lines 77-80 there is another type of error. But I installed ConTeXt from a copy of what Mari had on her portable (this brings other questions, later); so it works for now. But still in the error file, looking at lines 97-98 and 99-100, for example, what is the installation program changing in my mikTeX installation? ------- Now for the working installation. 1) As it was taken from Mari machine, isn't there possible problems with parameters from her machine which are not the same on mine? 2) How can update and/or create new formats? I am using ConTeXt with TeXworks; I did install a full copy of TeXworks (programs and dlls) in C:\Programmes\ConTeXt\texmf-context\context\data\texworks and I issue the setuptex.bat command before to start the ConTeXt TeXworks. (You can see that I installed ConTeXt in a folder without spaces in the name: C:\Programmes\ConTeXt\.) I am only using Mark IV, following the suggestion of Hans (for French,...) Dear Hans, Thank you for the correction. After swapping first and second as you told, I got the good result. I have another question. If I use 4*broad in the first level itemization, it seems to me that it inherently applied to the second and third level too. Even though I set just serried or broad instead of 4*broad in the second or the third level, it seems to be ignored. Is it normal? Thank you again. Best regards, Dalyoung

bibmod: forcing a key for alphabetical sorting

I'm arranging the bibliography of my math textbook alphabetial by author and it mostly works, but a couple entries are tricky. For example: @Book{Census:1992, author = {US Bureau of the Census}, title = {Statistical Abstracts of the United States: 1992}, publisher = {Government Printing Office}, year = 1992, address = {Washington, DC}, edition = {112th}} Using the settings \setupbibtex[database=../project, sort=author] \setuppublications[alternative=num, sorttype=bbl] it turns into this entry in the .bbl file: \startpublication[k=Census:1992,t=book, a={{of~the Census}},y=1992, n=7,s=otC92] \author[]{US~Bureau}[U.~B.]{of~the}{Census} \pubyear{1992} \title{Statistical Abstracts of the United States: 1992} \city{Washington, DC} \pubname{Government Printing Office} \edition{112th} \stoppublication I tried inserting a key={US Census} line in the bibtex entry, but the key seems to be ignored if there's already an author key (based on a moderately long stare at the cont-au.bst file). How could I trick bibtex into believing that the author's last name is "US", so that the entry would be placed with the "U" entries? -Sanjoy

Dear Jan-Erik, I tested your suggestion. Your method produce new line after Type 1, but I want to write "Type 1" and "This is a test." in the same line. And I have seen 4*broad in an example in the manual. In the example, it is used to set the distance, I think. Thank you. Best regards, Dalyoung

subformulas end theorems in Mark IV

Hello! I've tried the following example (from wiki): \starttext \startsubformulas[eq:1] \placeformula[eq:first] \startformula c^2 = a^2 + b^2 \stopformula \placeformula[eq:second] \startformula c^2 = a^2 + b^2 \stopformula \stopsubformulas Formula (\in[eq:1]) states the Pythagora's Theorem twice, once in (\in[eq:first]) and again in (\in[eq:second]). \stoptext I get "Formula (??) states the Pythagora's Theorem twice, once in (1) and again in (2)." In log I see 'unknown reference [][eq:1]'. I also have label/ref problem with theorems. I define \defineenumeration[theorem][text=Theorem,location=serried,right=.] Later I use \starttheorem[thm:bony:random:open] ... \stoptheorem, \in{theorem} [thm:bony:random:open], and get just 'theorem' instead of 'theorem 1'. -- Yury G. Dear all, I try next code to get the following form of text. \startitemize[4*broad] \sym{Type 1} This is a test. bla bla ...bla bla bla ...bla bla bla \sym{Type 2} This is the second item. bla bla bla ... bla bla bla \stopitemize Type 1 This is a test. bla bla bla ... bla bla bla Type 2 This is the second item bla bla bla ... bla bla bla however, I got the overlapped output such as "This is a test" started from the position of p in Type. Chaing number 4 in 4*broad to another number doesn't work. Is there a good way to do that? Thank you. Best regards, Dalyoung

Reference to formula does not work?

Hi all, Say I have a formula that is numbered as "1.1". The problem is when I use \in to refer to that formula, the reference only shows a number "1", and if interaction is enabled, the link does not work neither. The following is the code I use: \setupinteraction[state=start,focus=standard] \starttext \chapter{Test} \section{Test} \placeformula[eq:test] \startformula a + b \stopformula Eq \in[eq:test] \section{Test 2} \placeformula[eq:testtwo] \startformula a + b \stopformula Eq \in[eq:testtwo] \stoptext Another question is, how to make formula number without the chapter number?. white color turns black inside a table

Hello, I have problems with the following minimal example (I only want to typeset white labels inside the table), but maybe I'm the only one again: \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext \startcolor[white] \placetable[force]{none}{\starttable[|r|] \NC \color[red]{me} \AR \stoptable} \placetable[force]{none}{\def\a#1{\color[white]{#1}}\starttable[|r|l|] \NC \a{one} \NC \a{one} \AR \NC \a{two} \NC \a{two} \AR \stoptable} \placetable[force]{none}{\starttable[|r|] \NC \color[white]{me} \AR \stoptable} \stopcolor \stoptext I get black labels instead of white ones in the second and third table. Any idea what goes wrong? I'm using mkii. Mojca

\setuparranging with margins

Hi, Can I use \setuparranging (with, say, [2*4]), but asking for a specific margin between pages? Like asking for 4 A5 pages / sheet, but with always 2 cm between pages edges? Thanks, Maurício
