Hello Hans, what has happend to \externalfigure[a] in XeTeX? With \externalfigure[a] I now get ! Unable to load picture or PDF file './a.png}'. Thanks, Mojca

mailarchive 2007?

Hello everybody, anyone out there has a correct/full archive of the ntg-context mailinglist 2007 upto now? The one on <http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/> has all '@' replaced by ' at ' which makes it hard to use for the mailinglist archive at contextgarden.net. While moving the archive to the new server, I have found out that because of a stupid misconfiguration the server didn't save the mails to the disk. Patrick

garden: filename capitalization

Patrick, Can one stop the wiki upload from capitalizing the first letter of uploaded filenames? Case matters on most Unix systems (not sure about Mac OS X though), so for example a T-bib.tex won't be as much use as a t-bib.tex. -Sanjoy `Not all those who wander are lost.' (J.R.R. Tolkien)

"Improved" substack macro

Hi Hans and Taco, The \startsubstack macro in core-mat places the subscript lower than the atop. See for example \startformula \sum_{\startsubstack a \NR b \NR \stopsubstack} \sum_{\scriptstyle a \atop \scriptstyle} \stopformula I have tried to get the correct spacing by copying what amsmath does. When you have time, can you look if it makes sense to provide both the substack macros. Question about definition of \frac

In core-mat.tex \frac is defined as \def\dofrac#1#2#3{\relax\mathematics{{{#1{#2}}\over{#1{#3}}}}} \unexpanded\def\frac {\dofrac\mathstyle} Shouldn't that be \def\dofrac#1#2#3{\relax\mathematics{{\begingroup#1{#2}\endgroup\over#1{#3}}}} Basically, \begingroup ... endgroup instead of bgroup ... egroup generated by the braces. Compare the definition of \frac in core-mat with the definition of genfrac in m-newmat. I am not sure whether this really creates a difference or not, but generally most math definition try to avoid creating an extra group. Even LaTeX defines \frac as \def\frac#1#2{{\begingroup#1\endgroup\over#2}} So, should the definition of \dofrac be changed? Aditya

texlive 2007-2

Hi all! I have uploaded texlive 2007-2 packages to the tug server. I have done the usual test runs (installing/removing etc), and have the packages running on my laptop and various documents processed fine. I will wait another day (ie till tomorrow evening) until uploading the whole bunch to Debian/unstable. Footer for ntg-context mailing list, to encourage feedback

Hello, As a (delayed) part of my duty I'm now writing the report about the "Discussion on improving ConTeXt documentation". One of ideas was to add a short footer to each mail on the mailing list, which would encourage more people to reply after they get a solution to their feature request or a bug report (as opposed to the fact that many [sometimes including me] simply disappear after they get the answer and one never knows if they solved the problem or not). The following notices might be relevant to add to the default mail footer, but I'm afraid that the list is too long already.
