It might be the same problem as this one: =================== >> ! I have run tftopl + pltotf on the fonts, but it does not work. I get the problem even with cmr: =================== C:\Archivos de programa\TeXLive\texmf\tex\eplainJA>luatex -ini minimum_font.tex This is LuaTeX, Version snapshot-0.25.4-2008071819 (Web2C 7.5.7) (INITEX) (minimum_font.tex ! Font \tenrm=cmr10 not loadable: metric data not found or bad. =================== > There is a luatex fix in svn I have not yet tried. I'll first have to learn to work with svn. Looking for OFM files (why?)

Helo: I have done my best before posting the question to the list. I'm trying to generate a format but I get an error with LuaTeX. With pdfTeX there is no problem. I attach a minimum format file, plus the output with -kpdebug=3 for both LuaTeX and pdftex, as well as the last lines of -kpdebug=-1 with LuaTeX. Note that in this later case luaTeX finds the .tfm file, but keeps looking for an ofm one. I don't have OFMFONTS defined in my texmf.cnf. I removed it since I don't have any such file. I thought about the -kpdebug option because I vagely remembered that it existed, and found it with pdftex --help. However this and other options are not described with luatex --help. Ok, I agree that now this is not very important, but some time it shall be done, and it seems so easy (copy paste the text from pdftex?) that it could be done now. --Javier A.

problem with os.spawn+os.execute on win32

Hi Taco, hi Hans, hi everyone, With LuaTeX 0.25.4 from the TeX Live distribution, I get a strange behaviour when, in a texlua script, I call another texlua script which in turn calls a program, depending on the sequence os.spawn and/or os.execute I use. Example, assuming acrord32 is in the PATH and presentation.pdf exists: % wrapper.tlu kpse.set_program_name("texlua") os.spawn('texlua d:/mpg/program.tlu') -- or... -- os.execute('texlua d:/mpg/program.tlu) % program.tlu os.execute ('acrord32 "d:\\mpg\\presentation.pdf"') -- or... -- os.spawn ('acrord32 "d:\\mpg\\presentation.pdf"') Now if I run 'texlua wrapper.tlu' from a command line, when Adobe Reader 9 starts, it immediatly crashes showing an error box "internal error". The problem disappears under one of the following conditions: 1. Change os.spawn to os.execute in wrapper.tlu and/or os.execute to os.spawn in program.tlu. 2. Do the same on linux (with trivial path adaptations). 3. Use something else than Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat) 8 or 9. 4. Comment the call to kpse.set_program_name(). I tend to believe that 3 and 4 a rather anecdotic, and though in theory the problem could come from kpse or AR, it may actually be more related to os.spawn. A quick look at loslibext.c let me think that os.spawn is indeed rather tricky on windows (and at least more than on *nix). So, what do you think? Is it a bug or I am doing something wrong? 0.29: Overlapping lines with OTF

Hello, when using OpenType fonts with beta 0.29, all lines are typeset at the same height, thus overlapping each other. This does not happen with T1 fonts nor with beta 0.27.0. I have attached the PlainTeX test file as well as the result in 0.27 and 0.29. Thanks in advance, Jonathan

Can't find file without extension

Transcript written on foobar.log. mpg@siegel:~% luatex foobar This is LuaTeX, Version snapshot-0.25.4-2008071722 (Web2C 7.5.7) ! I can't find file `foobar.tex'. <*> foobar Please type another input file name: Looks like luatex doesn't want to eat files without extensions, while pdftex accepts them. Is it a feature? Manuel.

I think this question has popped up before, but I couldn't find it. When I try to typeset any LaTeX document with the default T1 fonts, I get the following error: ! Font \T1/cmr/m/n/10=ecrm1000 at 10pt not loadable: metric data not found or bad. LuaTeX finds the file (as kpse.find_file shows) and in fact it should find it, because I have a copy in the local directory. If I switch to another font (ae, mathmazo, etc.) it works fine and I was able to typeset several documents by using the process_input_buffer to convert the 8-bit input to a pseudo utf8 text which can be applied inputenc to (ie, with active characters). Just a dirty trick, of course, but it worked. Another question. Has someone attempted to make LuaTeX/LaTeX compatible with existing T1 and the like fonts? (without using active characters, I mean). After reading the manual for 0.29 I've inferred this part is still under development. I'm reading the lua files from ConTeXt, so I presume I'll have more questions soon. Any further pointers? I'm interested mainly in LaTeX (LuaLaTeX?). Thanks Javier ------------------------- http://www.tex-tipografia.com
