Based on the number of problems reported here with fonts in TL2004/ConTeXt, and also based on my own experience, I believe someone should investigate this in detail and write a note in the WIKI explaining how to fix the problem.
As far as I can see, the font problems come down to only a few different problems: 1) the standard fonts don't work -> use adobekb 2) my typescripts for my new fonts don't work -> ask here 3) pdftex doesn't find my mapfile -> write page for the wiki 4) other (more difficult) questions -> ask Adam L. :-) So font problems are not all the same, and some already answered on the wiki (although sometimes not complete).
