Hi Karl!

I found out that support for those scalable PK fonts broke in pdfTeX 
version 1.40.0 by svn revision number 77. Looks like version before they 
worked...

And as patch is really simple and small for enabling scalable PK fonts, 
I'm sending it in attachment. There is just too strict check in 
check_fm_entry() and one missing check for NULL dereference.

Patch was generated against svn://tug.org/pdftex/branches/stable 
revision 775.
