Of course. I have this in texmf.cnf:

obj_tab_size = 8388607          % maximum number of pdf objects (this is also the limit for Acrobat 4.x)
dest_names_size = 131072        % maximum number of destinations in pdf files
pdf_mem_size = 524288           % max size of the |pdf_mem| array
