Looks good but in the form

\processassignmentlist[a=1,b=2,...]\docommand

and (as equivalent to \processcommacommand)

\processassignmentcommand[\mylist]\docommand

where \docommand is defined as

\def\docommand#1#2{...} % #1 = key, #2 = value
