Hi, #4712 is 1.20a-rc2. Once I can figure out how to make a release with sarovar, the archive will show up there. Best regards Martin -- Martin Schröder, ms@artcom-gmbh.de ArtCom GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str 5, 28359 Bremen, Germany Voice +49 421 20419-44 / Fax +49 421 20419-10 http://www.artcom-gmbh.de

It's finally there (will be moved to beta): http://sarovar.org/download.php/285/pdftex-1.20a-rc2.tar.bz2 Best regards Martin PS: sarovar has an upload file size limit of 2mb :-( -- Martin Schröder, ms@artcom-gmbh.de ArtCom GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str 5, 28359 Bremen, Germany Voice +49 421 20419-44 / Fax +49 421 20419-10 http://www.artcom-gmbh.de

After a quick "hack" test installation without pdftex.map I get
an assertion:
| $ pdftex test
| This is pdfTeXk, Version 3.141592-1.20a-rc2 (Web2C 7.5.2)
| %&-line parsing enabled.
| output format initialized to PDF
| (./test.tex
| Babel

You somehow managed to not set \pdfpkresolution ? Note the files in the texmf dir. Best regards Martin -- Martin Schröder, ms@artcom-gmbh.de ArtCom GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str 5, 28359 Bremen, Germany Voice +49 421 20419-44 / Fax +49 421 20419-10 http://www.artcom-gmbh.de

Yes, this is possible (it was a "quick install hack").
Note the files in the texmf dir.
An assertion is not the way to handle an error condition.
Yours sincerely
