Hi Martin, Is there a difference in behavior when with inclusion a boxtype is specified (like not being resused and such?) AFAIK the reuse is done at macro level (at least pdftex.def does it there) and pdftex.def reuses only inclusions with the same boxtype. i got the impression that there is a difference between \pdfximage artbox additional specs {name} \pdfximage additional specs artbox {name} also, what is the fallback sequence when there is no artbox?
