Does that require changes in applications that parse the output or log for errors, like AUCTeX?
Hopefully not; instead it should fix a bug in conjunction with AucTeX: Previously errors _and_ warning started with an "!", making it hard/impossible for AucTeX do distinguish between them. Now that's easy, as warnings don't start with an "!" anymore. Best Martin
