Anyway, is there some script or program which can generate any PGC files? Quick look at google does not find anything, even not any specification for that file. I could probably decode it from pdftex source code...
AFAIK the "PDF Font Containers" are not officially maintained. They were introduced in order to support development of pdfTeX itself but never supposed to be used by mortal users.
Instead of using Type3 fonts, you get better results if you create Type1 fonts from the Metafont sources...
Hi! I asked my question because of fixing/allowing specifying enc file for existing bitmap PK fonts. And I deduced from documentation that scalability of fonts is enabled due to usage of PGC fonts (with fallback to PK fonts). So in either way if I (or somebody else) would try to "fix" support for enc file for PK fonts, some tests should be done with PGC fonts to not break existing PGC fonts supports in pdftex. And about Type3 fonts, I understood that in PDF file it is possible to have in Type3 font only PDF-version of Type3 (not whole PostScript Type3 language)... Probably it could be possible to take existing PDF image and make from it PDF Type3 font with one glyph (for testing). I hope that Karl answer to my (previous) email and provide some ideas. My primary goal is still support for enc files for PK fonts. -- Pali Rohár pali.rohar@gmail.com
