In Bremen it was discussed that (multiple?) cfg and map files should be loadable from the command line via parameters. I'll dig up my notes of that and post them, as ArtCom will need this in the near future.
I found them. :-)
The idea is to have two more cmdline parameters: -mapfile=<file> and -config-file=<file> both can appear multiple times in one invocation.
<file> is either - empty all previous definitions are cleared - +<filename> the definitions in the file are added to the previous definitions, overriding any previous definitions. - <filename> all definitions are cleared and the definitions in the file are loaded, i.e. it's equal to the sequence <param>= <param>=+file
can this option be combined with a \pdfoverloadmap that makes following map definitions overload previous ones as well as the option to let enable pdftex to load map files (\pdfmapfile) on pages >1 Hans ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE | pragma@wxs.nl Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: +31 (0)38 477 53 69 | fax: +31 (0)38 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- information: http://www.pragma-ade.com/roadmap.pdf documentation: http://www.pragma-ade.com/showcase.pdf -------------------------------------------------------------------------
