Hello, texshow is no more working on my system after update. Here is the output:
It cannot find the cont-en.xml data file. The XML data files live in <texmf>/context/data/ Perhaps you forgot to run mktexlsr (most likely) or your system's kpsewhich doesn't search for "other text files" in this data directory (possible)? Greetings, Taco

Thanks. I'm using the newest teTeX. Here the output of kpsewhich: kpsewhich --format="other text files" --progname=context cont-en.xml -> no output kpsewhich --progname=context cont-en.xml -> /opt/teTeX/texmf-dist/tex/context/interface/cont-en.xml Then, I loaded the texmf.cnf into my editor and found the following text: % Some additional input variables for several programs. If you add % a program that uses the 'other text files' or 'other binary files' % search formats, you'll want to add their variables here as well. So I added this line: CONTEXTINPUTS = .;$TEXMF/tex/context// And now, it seems all ok! Thanks! Peter P.S.: In the manual of kpsewhich, the options begin with only one hyphen. -- http://pmrb.free.fr/contact/

i never understood the -option versus --option thing in kpse, try: kpsewhich --help and it reports -help print this message and exit. i remember discussing this once but there seems to be some kind of unix convention going on Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------
