aligning table in middle of page using startalignment

these don't seem to work. any thoughts?
a) alignment doesn't really center something, it merely sets the raggedness (if I am wrong, somebody please tell me....) b) |l|p| : you can't get this centered, because p always takes up full room. try this: \showframe \startbuffer \starttabulate[|l|p(4cm)|] \NC First edition: \NC 3 June 2003 \NC \NR \NC Second impression, with corrections: \NC 2 July 2003 \NC \NR \stoptabulate \stopbuffer \starttext \placetable[here]{none}{\getbuffer } \vfill \getbuffer \stoptext \endinput Patrick
