just ignore the message; a new version of pdftex will support the latest pdf, and in most cases new features are just more entri4e sin dictionaries; i can imagine that it affects pdftops but not pdf inclusion because that's mostly copying and object reference tracking.

Do you get faulty files?

I thought that it was causing texexec to only do one run and/or MP not to run; but that must have been a glitch, because having not changed anything it is completing its runs now. So, sorry for the noise, and thanks Hans for the explanation. Duncan
