Hi, looking for a solution to avoid short snippets in a paragraph's last line I found lefthyphenmin/righthyphenmin. But as this affects all hyphenations it is not useful. Is there also a command that only cares for the last line of a paragraph, controlling that this last line should consist of e.g. at least 5 characters (all in all, or at least righthyphenmin 4 characters)? Yes, it seems to be what I was looking for. At least on my testfiles the result is very nice. Now comes debugging / checking what negative side-effects "\parfillskip 0pt plus .6\hsize" can have in real life (footnotes, tables etc.) ... Any traps known? Steffen
