Dear list, I have the following sample: %~ \enableexperiments[fonts.compact] \definefallbackfamily[mainface] [rm][TeX Gyre Pagella] [range={0x0061}, force=yes, it={style:tf, features:{slanted}}] \definefontfamily[mainface] [rm][TeX Gyre Pagella] %[it={style:tf, features:{slanted}}] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \startTEXpage[offset=1em] a \it a \stopTEXpage \stoptext Compact fonts in LuaMetaTeX prevent the slanted in the fallback font, but it causes no problem with the main defined font family. MkIV slants both the fallback and the main font families. I guess this might be some code preventing this from working. I’m using current latest (from 2024.08.16 16:30).
