There is a error when try to process strc-not.mkvi which comes from this line: %D \startlocalnotes[width=.3\hsize,n=0] The argument has to be “footnote” and not a assignment, changing the lines to %D \startlocalnotes[footnote] fixes it. Wolfgang

Sorry, copy-paste error on my side (as Wolfgang already noticed). It's strc-not.mkvi that fails, not core-sys.mkiv. Marco
