please report what version does work fine and which one does not.

version 2000.05.29 is the version of all the mptopdf.pl files i have. the latest that cause no error is from the 7.9.2001. The old file which works fine ist much shorter than the newer ones. severin

I am not a miktex user, but does it help to set the environment variable TEXSYSTEM to "miktex"? How do the other ConTeXt/miktex users use mptopdf?

I tried the thing with the TEXSYSTEM but that changed nothing! thanks anyhow severin
