Nice work, thank you very much Siep.
Especially when you can see the template with colors :) Wolfgang

Yes indeed. A great improvement ... context now looks represented like a real lively movement (what it is in earnest!) Thank you for your efforts Siep! Steffen PS: But I wonder -- what Alan said -- if this wouldn't be even more impressive, when you/Siep could also find appropriate images going through autum/winter/spring? What do other think?

Nothing against the idea, but in my opinion unifying the design with meeting.contextgarden.net, group.contextgarden.net, apache listings, live.contextgarden.net, modules.contextgarden.net etc. would have a much higher priority than having four different color for wiki, at least at the time being. I'm just curious. Why didn't anyone complain about "page is too wide" with the old style and "wikipedia looks bad because it is soooo wide"? Mojca

: Indeed. But where is the option for it to use the full width of my browser window?
Found it, sorry for the noise. Just login and choose a different skin. :-)
Rather simpler, and still with the same skin, is zooming with 'ctrl+'.
Best Martin

We could easily have a "ContextSkin" and "ContextSkinWide", but I personally think that ctrl-+ is better. Best wishes, Taco

I don't know how that works of Linux, but "apple +" magnifies text, which results in even less contents on the page which defeats its purpose, while "apple -" makes text unreadable, but also shrinks the active area. Mojca

Also we could have a javascript function which zooms the content to the width of the current screen. Apple behavior (apple-+ modifying font size rather than zooming) does make the "just zoom it" approach less trivial though. The reason I suggested a non-liquid layout for Context garden is that, in my opinion, the normal wiki / liquid text style reflects poorly on a project which promises beautiful typography. For an example of additional precedent for this approach, the Textmate wiki is also a fixed width layout: http://wiki.macromates.com/Main/HomePage
Best wishes, Taco

I found the new look after being almost 3 months away from the list: it is absolutely great! Indeed thank you very much Siep and all the people who contributed. May I suggest that a word should be said about the Context User Group, by adding a link to http://group.contextgarden.net/ Best regards: OK

You were the first one who registered via the web form! :) You could have gotten the membership number 1 if it wasn't sold out at fund-raising auction for 120 EUR. We had the first General Assembly on Friday 23rd September in Bassenge. We'll probably do some more promotion of the user group as soon as we will have the account open, so that users can be redirected to payment page straight away. Mojca

Thanks (But this should be the default - maybe it is now for new users.) Alan
Thanks for all the praise. ATM I have limited time for fixing issues so do not expect instant responses or fixes. But if you have problems, it would help to list: - browser and browser version - OS - Javascript on or off - problem url About the limited width: max-width is expressed in ems. Zooming also zooms the width of the page, up to the width of the window. With a line `$wgAllowUserCss = true;' in LocalSettings.php, users could make a page User:<user name>/contextskin.css with content body { max-width: none; } to always use the full width of the window. But currently such a page has no effect. -- Siep Kroonenberg
