Thank you to Maarten Sneep and Severin Obertuefer for help with my "Newbie cant get \externalfigure to work" It seems likely that problem arose because of some coding errors and also because I am using an old (1999) version of ConTeXt (part of 4TeX5.0 (NL Tug)). So I am trying to upgrade. I am now trying to run ConTeXt from TexLive 7 CDROM, TexLive says ... "Select a Tex-oriented editor" I chose WinShell To run Context, I made a WinShell User Defined Tool, as follows. In Options => General => Userdefined I did ... exefile = pdfetex ... cmd line = &cont-en When I run that tool I get One or more errors occurred! Please check the options! Now I am stuck again Your suggestions gratefully received Richard Hardwick

maybe you need to change the pdfetex in texexec here, or better exefile = texexec cmfline = --pdf --int=en given that you want to force the english interface, Hans ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE | pragma@wxs.nl Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: +31 (0)38 477 53 69 | fax: +31 (0)38 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- information: http://www.pragma-ade.com/roadmap.pdf documentation: http://www.pragma-ade.com/showcase.pdf -------------------------------------------------------------------------
