Dear list, I have the following sample: http://www.ousia.tk/hippocratic-oath.tex After the fix from last beta, I’m afraid I’m still experiencing wrong column breaks, as displayed in http://www.ousia.tk/hippocratic-oath.pdf. Page 1: last line from first column should move to second column. Page 2: totally unbalanced columns. Page 3: first line from second column should be moved to first column. Page 4: I wonder why there is so much spaceinbetween notes (more than a line, as far as I can tell) and no spacebefore. For all pages: if setups are exactly the same, why does the first group of linenotes (dict) have a bigger interlinespace than the second group? Another question is how I should get columns for \placelist[dict]? Is the columnn breaking issue a bug or am I missing something? Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk

rather tricky this .. as we need to split the notes in columns ... i'll try a different logic but still, using verystrict will always be kind of tricky (strict already behaves better) Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | www.pragma-ade.nl | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

Hans, I would love to avoid using verystrict, but documents cannot end having the references in one page and the notes in the next one. Sorry, but only checking that references in body and notes are in the same page wouldn’t be a very attractive task. Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk
